tattooist Proficiencies

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the perception and investigation skills if you do not already have it. You also gain proficiency with Painters supplies.

Manifest Tattoos

At 3rd level, you learn to channel KI into the ink of your tattoos and bring them into life. When you gain this feature, you gain the choice of 2 Tattoos from the common level magic items list.

• At 5th level, you gain an uncommon level magical tattoo
• at 10th level, you gain an rare level magical tattoo
• at 15th level, you gain a very rare level magical tattoo
• at 20 level you gain access to legendary level magical tattoo.

These tattoos do not require you to attune to be applied to you.

In addition, any tattoos gained by your class or on your journey that require a saving throw you can either use its original DC or a DC based on your statistics (DC = 8 + Wisdom modifier + Proficiency bonus). If a magical tattoo has only one time use, it is regained on completing a long rest.

Iconographies’ Eye

At 6th level, you can spend 1 KI point to gain advantage on perception and investigation checks to spot symbols or other iconography. Additionally your proficiency bonus is doubled for all Arcana, History and Religion checks you make to identify a symbol or piece of iconography if you are proficient in the skill.

Fury of Ink

Also at 6th level, whenever you would attack with an unarmed strike, you can replace any of those unarmed strikes with a tattoo activation.

Illusory Instincts

At 11th level, your endless study of iconography grants you great insight into images with hidden meaning and mind-bending patterns have begun to make you immune to some of the weaker mind-controlling spells. While you are conscious, you automatically succeed on saving throws against illusion and enchantment spells cast with a spell slot of 2nd level or lower. Otherwise, as a reaction you can expend 1 KI point when subjugated to Illusion or enchantment spells to gain advantage on saving throws against them.

Drown in Ink

At 17th level, whenever you use 4 or more Ki point on the same turn, you regain a use of one of your tattoos.
