Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Some barbarians are intrigued by arcane sources of power to fuel their rage. Among them, those who follow the Path of the Draconic Blood channel through supernatural rituals the pure elemental energy of Dragons, undergoing a physical and mental transformation that brings them closer to the most majestic and deadliest creature of the Multiverse.

Blood of the Dragon

When you reach 3rd level, you connect yourself with the ancient and mystical power of Dragons. Such connection can be caused by different events: you inadvertently drank some dragon's blood, you intentionally perform a macabre ritual with a dragon's corpse, etc. The origin of such power may be fleshed out by DM and player.

3rd-level Path of the Draconic Blood feature

When you enter your rage, you can transform, unleashing the power of the Dragon that runs in your veins. Until the rage ends, you can use such power to strengthen your attacks or to defend yourself or your allies.

Each time you rage, you can manifest the Might of a chromatic Dragon. First, you choose a Dragon Type and the associated type of damage.

  • Black: acid damage.
  • Blue: lightning damage.
  • Green: poison damage.
  • Red: fire damage,
  • White: cold damage.

Then, you choose a draconic form:

Horn of the Dragon. A majestic Horn, similar to the one of the Dragon Type you have chosen, grows on your head, and elemental energy flows through your veins: you can channel Dragon's Might into your weapon strikes. While you’re raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra damage equal to 1d6 + half your barbarian level. The extra damage type depends on the Dragon Type you have chosen when you entered your rage.

Tail of the Dragon. You grow thick scales and a massive tail of the same colour of the Dragon Type you have chosen. While you're raging, you gain a +1 to your AC and resistance to the damage type associated to the Dragon Type you have chosen. In addition, if a creature you can see within 10 feet of you hits you or another creature with an attack roll, you can use your reaction to swipe your tail and roll a d8, applying a bonus to the creature's AC equal to the number rolled, potentially causing the attack to miss.

Mind of the Dragon

6th-level Path of the Draconic Blood feature

As the connection with draconic blood increases, you acquire the mental strength and arcane knowledge of Dragons.

  • While you are raging, you have advantage in saving throws agaist being frightened.
  • You learn Draconic language.
  • You gain proficiency in Arcana.
  • You can understand if an object is made of precious metals only by touching it.

Breath of the Dragon

10th-level Path of the Draconic Blood feature

You can now control the most powerful weapon of Dragons: their breath.

When you are in rage, you can replace one of your Attacks with a fierce exhalation of elemental energy. Your Dragon Type choice determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your Dragon Type choice.

Breath weapon save DC = 8 + Constitution modifier + Proficiency modifier.

A creature takes 4d8 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 5d8 at 15th level and 6d8 at 19th level.

  • Black: Acid in a 5 by 30 ft. Line (Dexterity Save).
  • Blue: Lightning in a 5 by 30 ft. Line (Dexterity Save)
  • Green: Poison in a 15 ft. Cone (Constitution Save)
  • Red: Fire in a 15 ft. Cone (Dexterity Save)
  • White: Cold in a 15 ft. Cone (Constitution Save)

You can use this feature only once per round and a total number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Aspect of the Dragon

14th-level Path of the Draconic Blood feature

The draconic power within you grows so powerful that you resemble a real Dragon while unleashing your fury.

  • When you are in rage, your size increases to Large.
  • When you enter your rage, you activate both Horn of the Dragon and Tail of the Dragon, and you have immunity to the damage type associated to the Dragon's Type you choose.
  • While raging, you sprout a pair of large draconic wings from your back, granting you a fly speed equal to your normal movement speed.
  • You gain blindsight to a range 30 ft. every time you enter a rage.
