Base Class: Barbarian
The ambitious warriors who walk the Path of the Sovereign do so with an insurmountable conviction, believing their ability and right to lead is undeniable. Bearing strong wills and bold ideas, these barbarians treat every battle and social interaction as a step towards greatness and the pursuit of power.
Vassals of the Monarch
Beginning when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can imbue allies with a measure of your illustrious might. When you enter your rage, you can choose two willing creatures within 30 feet of you that you can see and make them your vassals, granting each creature the following benefits for the duration of your rage:
- It gains a number of temporary hit points equal to two times your barbarian level.
- It can add your rage damage bonus to any saving throws or attack rolls it makes.
You can create one additional vassal at 9th and 16th level.
Royal Presence
Also at 3rd level, you carry yourself with an air of both dignity and majesty. You gain proficiency in the Charisma (Persuasion) and the Charisma (Intimidation) skills. In addition, when you make a Charisma (Persuasion) or Charisma (Intimidation) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 7 or lower as an 8.
Total Subjugation
At 6th level, you can force your foes to grovel before you. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack while you are raging, you can use your bonus action to force it to make a Wisdom saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, a creature is knocked prone and cannot stand up while it is within 30 feet of you for the next 1 minute. At the end of each of its turns a prone creature can reroll its saving throw, ending the effect on a success. The effect also ends if you move more than 30 feet away from the creature.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Fierce Devotion
At 10th level, your sovereignty is unquestionable. You are immune to being charmed or frightened. While raging, this benefit extends to your vassals.
Deadly Decree
At 14th level, you can sentence your foes to an early demise. Whenever a creature fails its saving throw against your Total Subjugation feature, you can choose to also mark it for death until the beginning of your next turn. While marked for death, other creatures score critical hits against the creature on a 19-20 and the next time one of your vassals hits it with an attack before the beginning of your next turn, it takes an additional 4d12 psychic damage.
You can use this feature once per rage.
