Wielding the various kinds of lights and colors, Bards of the College of Colors specialize in aiding allies and weakening enemies. 

Artistic Prowess

3rd-level College of Colors feature

When you join the College of Colors at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Painter's Supplies. Additionally, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any skill check you make with Painter's Supplies. Also, you are able to cast the spell Color Spray a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest. 

Sound Color

3rd-level College of Colors feature

Beginning at 3rd level, you have the power to transform your music into colors that grant different effects. As a bonus action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to grant yourself or an ally within range a Color. Choose one color from the list below, and choose one effect from the color you have chosen. 

Red:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming fire damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal fire damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, dealing additional fire damage to every creature within 10ft of the attack's target equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration dice.

Yellow

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming lightning damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal lightning damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, dealing additional lightning damage equal to a roll of your bardic Inspiration die and preventing them from taking reactions until the end of their next turn.

Blue:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming cold damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal cold damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, dealing additional cold damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die and causing the targets movement to be halved until the end of its next turn.

Green:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming acid damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal acid damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, causing the target to be coated in acid for one minute. While coated in acid, the affected creature takes acid damage equal to one roll of your Bardic Inspiration die at the beginning of each turn. The creature can use its action to scrape the acid from its body, ending the effect.

Purple:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming poison damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal poison damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, dealing additional poison damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die and granting disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of their next turn.

Improved Sound Color

6th-level College of Colors feature

Starting at 6th level, your application of colorful music has an even greater effect on your allies. When you use your Sound Color feature, you can choose to have all 3 effects of a color be active for an ally. The additional elemental damage from Sound Color also ignores resistance. Additionally, you gain access to more colors from the list below. The new colors are given the same upgrades and are an extension of the Sound Color feature. 

Black:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming  damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal  damage.
  • The Creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, changing the damage type to necrotic and healing for half of the damage dealt.

White:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming radiant damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal radiant damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, dealing additional radiant damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die, and blinding the target until the end of its next turn.

Pink:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming psychic damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal psychic damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, forcing the target to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or fall asleep for 1 minute.

Turquoise:

  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, reducing incoming  damage by half.
  • The creature can use its reaction to expend its color, granting itself advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that deal  damage.
  • The creature can expend its color when it hits with an attack, dealing additional force damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die, and forcing the target to make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or be stunned until the end of its next turn.

 

Color Therapy

6th-level College of Colors feature

Also at 6th level, your colorful music is powerful enough to charm other people and end ailments. You are able to cast the spell Hypnotic Pattern once per long rest. Additionally, you can take 10 minutes to end one condition on a creature using your Painter's Supplies. The condition can be charmed, deafened, frightened, paralyzed, or poisoned. You cannot use this feature again until after you finish a long rest. 

 

Color Theory

14th-level College of Colors feature

Your combination of artistic expression and musical talent transcends the boundaries of color music. When using your Sound Color feature, you can choose 2 colors instead of 1, combining their effects. Additionally, you are able to cast the spell Prismatic Spray once per long rest.
