Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.
Armored Locomotive. You can use your Channel Divinity to conjure armaments to aid you in battle. As an Action, you summon pieces of a train to function as armor and weapons. You can summon Train parts that stay affixed to your body, that function as armor and/or a part in your hand that will function as a magic weapon. You can choose for the armor to function as +1 Breastplate or +1 Plate. You can choose for the weapon to be Light weight (1D4 +1 Bludgeoning), Medium (1D6 +1 Bludgeoning; One-Handed), Heavy Weight (2D6 +1 Bludgeoning; Two-Handed). The summoned equipment will disappear after 10 minutes, they are dismissed as a Bonus Action or you fall unconscious.
Lay Railway. You can use your Channel Divinity to create Railway Tracks of Radiant Energy. As an Action, you may place an amount of tracks up to 10. (This amount increases to 20 at 6th level, 30 at 11th level and 60 at 17th level) Each track tacks up a 5x5 foot square and they last for 1 minute. Starting at a point you can see within 30 feet, place your first track and then the rest of the tracks branch out from that point; each additional track must be placed in an adjacent space to the track before it (right angles only, you cannot place the tracks diagonally). Hostile creatures move through the tracks as though it were difficult terrain. If the track is placed on a space that is difficult terrain, allies can move through the space as if it were not difficult terrain.
Locomotive
7th-level Oath of the Rail Tracer feature:
Starting at level 7, your walking speed increases by 10 feet and after you move at least 10 feet, you have advantage on the next melee attack you make before the start of your turn. Furthermore, while your are on the tracks from the Lay Railway channel divinity, you do not provoke attacks of opportunity (you must be moving from a space with a track to a space with your track as you leave the reach of the hostile creature).
Laws of Motion
15th-level Oath of the Rail Tracer feature:
Your mastery of motion and momentum grant you the following benefits:
- You have expertise in Athletics.
- If you use the Shove action to nock the target Prone, you have advantage on the skill check.
- If you use the Shove action to push the target and you have moved at least 10 feet this turn, you may increase the distance you push the target by a number of feet equal to 5 times your Strength or Constitution modifier.
Hit and Run
20th-level Oath of the Rail Tracer feature:
As an Action, select an area that is up to 20 feet across and up to 100 feet long that you can see that is within 30 feet of you. A portal opens at each end of this space an a large train passes from one portal to the other (no creatures may enter these portals). Every creature within the selected area must make a Dexterity Save against your Paladin DC. All creatures that fail will take 5d10 force damage and are moved to an unoccupied space near the end of the line, creatures that succeed will take half that damage. The ground in this area becomes difficult terrain until the next dawn. Once you use this action, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th-level spell slot to use it again.
