Base Class: Wizard
Completely insane. That's what most wizards consider Blue Mages to be. Throwing your body directly into a fireball in order to "Figure out what it tastes like" is considered normal for these erratic spellcasters. As such, Blue mages are rare and rarely seen. Preferring monstrous and odd company instead of their scholarly counterparts, the Blue Mages you do find will likely be in the middle of a forest or abandoned labyrinth instead of in a library.
In actuality, Blue Mages are quite sane. They simply prefer practical learning to sitting in lectures or studying tomes. Blue mages have mastered the ability to learn with their eyes and bodies by observing spells being cast. They are quick to learn and it is a common sight to see a Blue Mage perfectly replicate a complicated spell after seeing it cast only a single time. Those who choose to practice this school of magic will need to be devoted completely to the path of learning. Even if it endangers themselves or others near them.
Almost as a reward for their patience and devotion, advanced blue mages will end up more durable than their counterparts and with a hefty list of spells acquired from their diligence in the practice of feeling spells with their body and mind.
Front Line Caster
2nd-level Blue Magic feature
You gain proficiency with medium armor, and you gain proficiency with one type of one-handed melee weapon of your choice.
You also gain proficiency in the Animal Handling skill if you don’t already have it.
You may use your Intelligence modifier instead of your Wisdom modifier when rolling for Animal Handling checks.
Azure Lore
2nd-level Blue Magic feature
You can use your knowledge of magic and monsters to learn spells at a glance.
You can use a reaction to use Azure Lore to attempt to learn a spell you see being cast or an ability or feature you see being used by a monster.
When you use Azure Lore to attempt to learn a spell you see being cast, you make an Arcana check against a DC of (8 + the spell level). On a successful roll, you can add the spell to your spellbook for free during your next long rest.
When you use Azure Lore to attempt to copy an ability or feature you see being used by a monster, your DM determines if the ability or feature can be copied. If it can, the DM picks an existing spell that is similar in effect to the ability or feature. You make an Animal Handling check against a DC of (8 + the spell level). On a successful roll, you can add the spell to your spellbook for free during your next long rest.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence Modifier, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Cobalt Mastery
