Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Necrolytes are practitioners of Necromancy magic. However, unlike traditional Necromancers, Necrolytes do not focus on building armies of undead servants. Instead, they focus on laying waste to and debilitating those who stand against them with the power of Necromancy. By studying this arcane tradition, you will learn how to effect multiple foes with single target necromancy spells, bypass necrotic resistance of your enemies, and even convert castings of some spells to necromancy spells.

Necromancy Savant

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy a necromancy spell into your spellbook is halved.

Grim Reaper

At 2nd level, when the wizard casts a Necromancy spell that normally targets only one creature, the spell can instead target two creatures within range and within 5 feet of each other. This increases to 10 feet at 6th level and 15 feet at 10th level.

In addition, you have learned to reap life energy from creatures you kill with your necromancy spells. Once per turn when you kill one or more creatures with a Necromancy spell, heal yourself for an amount equal to your levels in wizard plus two times the spells level. You don’t gain this benefit for killing constructs or undead.

Inevitable End

Starting at 6th level, the wizard's ability to shape negative energy becomes more potent. Necrotic damage dealt by the character’s wizard spells ignores resistance to necrotic damage. If the creature had no resistance to necrotic damage, each die roll of the spell you cast deals an additional 1 point of damage. For example, a Toll the Dead cantrip that dealt 2d12 damage would deal 2d12 + 2.

Dark Transmutation

Beginning at 10th level, when casting a spell that deals damage, you can alter the damage type of the spell so that it deals necrotic damage. Spells transmuted in this fashion are considered Necromancy spells for the duration of the spell.

This feature can be used once per long rest.

Inured to Necrosis

Beginning at 14th level, you have resistance to necrotic damage, you cannot be magically aged, and your hit point maximum can’t be reduced. You have spent so much time dealing with necrotic energy that you have become inured to some of its worst effects.
