Base Class: Cleric
Your purpose in life is to not only serve your deity, but to serve your allies, your friends, your family. Their pain is your pain, their triumph is your triumph, you are strong so that they needn't be. You heal them, you strengthen them, you protect them with your own life. Never forget that you are their rock, and they are your Charge. Protect thy Charge with thy life, should thy Charge fall, thy life is forfeit. To live without purpose is the ultimate punishment for failure. But you, you will not fail.
Domain Spells
When you would gain Domain spells, you instead choose 2 spells from the Paladin spell list. These spells are considered Cleric spells for you.
When choosing the first level spells, you choose one Paladin spell and the Shield spell.
These chosen spells must be of a specific level and cannot be changed later on.

Bonus Proficiency
When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency with heavy armor.
Thy Charge
Starting at level 1, during a long rest, you can spend a minute devoting yourself to the safety of another. Choose one humanoid currently resting with you, this humanoid becomes your Charge. They remain your Charge until you spend a long rest devoting yourself to another humanoid.
Protect thy Charge
At level 1, your devotion for your Charge grant's you the ability to protect them near indefinitely, though not without cost to yourself.
When your Charge is damaged, you can use your reaction to take the damage instead as necrotic damage. This can only be used when your charge is within 30ft of you.
This does not transfer any additional effects that may have been inflicted by the attack.
Channel Divinity: Brand of the Unjust
At 2nd level, you are able to mark an enemy for just retribution. When you or your Charge are hit by an attack, weapon or spell, you can use your Channel Divinity to mark that target. You have additional benefits when targeting a Branded target. The Brand lasts for 24 hours or until the target is killed or you are knocked unconscious.
When you hit a Branded target with a weapon attack, you can deal an additional 1d8 radiant damage to the target.
The damage increases to 2d8 when you reach level 10.
Strengthen thy Charge
Starting at 6th level, whenever you cast a spell with a range of Self or Touch on yourself, you can have it also effect your Charge. This can only activate if your Charge is within 20ft of you. The spell has half effect for both you and your charge. For example, Shield would grant you and your Charge +2 or +3 (DM's discretion). If the spell causes you to roll, you both half the result and add that.
At 12th level, you can choose to forgo the effects of your spell on yourself to increase the effects on your Charge, granting them the full effects of the spell.
Sacrifice Thyself
At 8th level, when you use your Protect thy Charge ability to protect your Charge from damage caused by a Branded target, you can choose to switch places with your Charge. This effect occurs after the damage is dealt.
Protect thy Charge Eternally
Starting at 17th level, when you are knocked unconscious, you can spend up to 5 of your Hit Dice to heal your Charge. Additionally, any Branded targets must make Constitution saving throws. On a failure they take 4d8 radiant damage, or half on a success.
Additionally, you can still activate your Protect thy Charge ability while unconscious. If you do, make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or automatically fail a death save. If you successfully save 3 times using this effect, you are revived to 1 Hit Point. The DC of the Constitution saving throw increases by 5 after each success and resets to 10 after a Long rest. The Constitution saves do not count towards your successful Death saves.
