Shifting Thought Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your own ki to become as chaotic as the wind or ordered with patience. When you use Step of the Wind the next attack roll against you has disadvantage until the end of your next turn and when you use Patience Defense your next attack roll has advantage until the end of your next turn.
In Two Minds
At 6th level, your ability to manipulate your ki has unintentionally influenced your mind fortifying it against outsiders. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, possessed and your thoughts being read additionally whenever you make a Charisma (Deception) or (Persuasion) check, you gain a bonus to the check equal to your Wisdom modifier.
Strike of Twin Fates
At 6th level, your abilities are enhanced allowing a follow up strike which gathers chaotic and orderly ki on your foes. Whenever you use Step of the Wind or Patience Defense you can make one unarmed strike as part of the bonus action.
Strike of Twin Fates gains an additional effect at 11th-level.
Mystical Diffusion
Starting at 11th level, your ability to deflect missiles has adapted to combat the arcane arts. You can use your reaction and spend 2 ki points to defuse harmful magic. When you are damaged by a spell, the damage you take is reduced by 1d10 + your Wisdom modifier + your monk level.
If you reduce the damage 0, you gain control over the remaining magic redirecting the magic into a Chaos Bolt or Guiding Bolt. You cast the spell as part of the same reaction, you make a ranged spell attack with proficiency + Wisdom modifier at a target within range.
When you reach 17th level, the damage you take is reduced by 2d10 + your Wisdom modifier + your monk level.
Strike of Twin Fates (Additional)
Starting at 11th level, Strike of Twin Fates gains an additional effect as the erratic visages or the mystical chains appear to inhibit your enemies. When you hit with the Strike of Twin Fates feature using Step of the Wind, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened by you until the end of their next turn or when using Patient Defense, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be grappled until the end of their next turn.
In addition, when you hit with both unarmed strikes from Flurry of Blows on the same target, you can spend 1 ki point to deal extra force damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die. + your Wisdom modifier.
Perfect Equilibrium
Upon reaching 17th level, you've gained mastery over your own ki allowing you to reach a state of perfect equilibrium for a brief period.
As an action you can reach Equilibrium for 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:
- Strike of Twin Fates imposes both frightened and grappled saving throws.
- Mystical Diffusion redirects magic into both Chaos Bolt and Guiding Bolt.
- You have advantage on Dexterity and Wisdom saving throws.
You can use this feature twice before you must finish a long rest.
