Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Brutes and Vanquishers are fanatic weapon masters who overuse their weapons naturally causing durability damage to the point of breaking them. They have great insight with all weapons designs and overcome their enemies using their brutish durability and willingly destroying their own weapons with mighty attacks. Some of these warriors combine this physical might with tactical cunning. Others just hit things until those things stop hitting back.

Bonus Proficiency

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Insight checks. You also have an uncanny understanding of weapons.

You have advantage on checks to figure a weapons non-magical properties.

Brutal Force

Starting at 3rd level, your weapons strike with especially brutal force. Whenever you hit with a weapon that you’re proficient with and deal damage, you may cause the weapon’s damage to increase by an amount depending on your level in this class, as shown on the Brute Force Bonus Damage table. This brute force damage reduces your non-magical weapons and objects durability by 1 each time you deal brute force damage with them.

  • Non-magical weapons and objects have a max of 25 durability and are reduced by 1 when dealing brute force damage with them. At 0 durability they are broken.
  • You may still attack with a broken weapon as normal but will cause the weapon to be destroyed after it hits!
  • Unless the weapon is broken, durability can be repaired at a smithy for 2 silver per point of durability or half that by anyone proficient with smith's tools (Cost of Materials).
  • A broken weapon requires 4 hours and half the weapons cost in materials to be fixed or half of that cost by anyone proficient with smith's tools (Destroyed Weapons Cannot Be Repaired).

You can click on a weapon in the character sheet and add a customized note of the durability damage it has sustained.

Brutish Durability

Beginning at 7th level, your toughness allows you to shrug off assaults that would devastate others. Whenever you make a saving throw, roll 1d6 and add the die to your saving throw total (You can choose to do this before or after the roll, but before the outcome is determined). If applying this bonus to a death saving throw increases the total to 20 or higher, you gain the benefits of rolling a 20 on the d20.

Additional Fighting Style

At 10th level, you can choose a second option from the Fighting Style features. You can’t take a Fighting Style option more than once, even if you later get to choose again.

Archery

You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls you make with ranged weapons.

Blind Fighting

You have blindsight with a range of 10 feet. Within that range, you can effectively see anything that isn’t behind total cover, even if you’re blinded or in darkness. Moreover, you can see an invisible creature within that range, unless the creature successfully hides from you.

Defense

While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC.

Dueling

When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon.

Great Weapon Fighting

When you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die for an attack you make with a melee weapon that you are wielding with two hands, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the new roll is a 1 or a 2. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit.

Interception

When a creature you can see hits a target, other than you, within 5 feet of you with an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage the target takes by 1d10 + your proficiency bonus (to a minimum of 0 damage). You must be wielding a shield or a simple or martial weapon to use this reaction.

Protection

When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.

Superior Technique (Select this, then the Replacement Optional Class Feature)

You learn one maneuver of your choice from among those available to the Battle Master archetype. If a maneuver you use requires your target to make a saving throw to resist the maneuver’s effects, the saving throw DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice).

You gain one superiority die, which is a d6 (this die is added to any superiority dice you have from another source). This die is used to fuel your maneuvers. A superiority die is expended when you use it. You regain your expended superiority dice when you finish a short or long rest.

Thrown Weapon Fighting

You can draw a weapon that has the thrown property as part of the attack you make with the weapon.

In addition, when you hit with a ranged attack using a thrown weapon, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll.

Two-Weapon Fighting

When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.

Unarmed Fighting

Your unarmed strikes can deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier on a hit. If you aren’t wielding any weapons or a shield when you make the attack roll, the d6 becomes a d8.

At the start of each of your turns, you can deal 1d4 bludgeoning damage to one creature grappled by you.

Devastating Critical

Starting at 15th level, when you score a critical hit with a weapon attack, the target of the critical hit has their AC reduced by your brute force damage die (1d6 at level 10, 1d8 at level 16, 1d10 at level 20) till the end of your next turn.

(Targets can only have 1 instance of this effect and cannot gain another till after it ends)

Combat Survivalist

At 18th level, your body has attained the pinnacle of resilience from countless battles increasing your normal limit in strength and constitution to 22. At the start of your turn in combat, you regain hit points equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier if you have less than half of your hit points. (You don’t gain this benefit at 0 hit points)

In addition, when you attack with a broken weapon it deals double the brute force damage before its destroyed.
