Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Soulblades are born of a lineage of warriors whose great feats in battle shape the flow of magic around them, allowing their supernatural prowess to sometimes pass to their decedents. Some tribes and noble families track their ancestries in hope of identifying the heirs to this power and harnessing their gifts. However, many soulblades are born of unremarkable circumstances, removed from and ignorant of the heritage that empowers them. Some scholars suggest that when the fates and the weave of magic align just so, one of these warrior mages may come into being through their own force of will, bending the weave and perhaps starting a lineage of their own.

The lineage of the of the bond between soul and blade influences your physical being. At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Soulblade Sorcerer Quirks table to create a quirk for your character.

Arcane Bond

1st-level Soulblade feature

You learn a ritual that creates a magical bond between yourself and one weapon. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short or long rest. The weapon must be within your reach throughout the ritual, at the conclusion of which you touch the weapon and forge the bond.

Once you have bonded a weapon to yourself, you can’t be disarmed of that weapon unless you are incapacitated. If it is on the same plane of existence, you can summon or dismiss that weapon as a bonus action on your turn, causing it to manifest instantly in your hand.

You become proficient with the weapon that you are bonded to. If you attempt to bond with a second weapon, you must break the bond with the first one.  Furthermore, you can use your bonded weapon as your spellcasting focus.

Additionally, while bonded you are propelled into battle. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.

Enchanted Warrior

You become a paragon of war and battle, making you fearless, bold, and flowing with vitality. As a bonus action, you can enter this state for 1 minute. Once you use this bonus action, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you spend 3 sorcery points to use it again.

While Blessed Soul is active, you gain the following benefits:

  • When you make a melee attack against a creature, you don't provoke opportunity attacks from that creature for the rest of the turn, whether you hit or not.
  • You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of +1).
  • Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.

Esoteric Bulwark
