Base Class: Rogue
The Uhlan, also called a Demi-Lancer, is a light, lance-armed cavalryman, relying on mobility for both offence and defense.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the lance, and cartographer's tools.
Couche Lance
Starting at 3rd level, you learn the ultimate cavalry attack, the charge. Once per turn, if you move more than 20 feet, and make a melee weapon attack with a lance, you may add your sneak attack damage to the damage roll.
Born to the Saddle
Starting at 3rd level, you gain access to a Mount. This creature must be a Medium or Large beast of CR of 1 or less. This Beast gains HD as you do. Further, you have advantage on saving throws made to avoid falling off your mount. If you fall off your mount and descend no more than 10 feet, you can land on your feet if you’re not incapacitated.
Finally, mounting or dismounting a creature costs you only 5 feet of movement, rather than half your speed.
Mounted Mobility
You and your mount act as one, moving and respond almost as a single entity. Starting at 9th level, you and your mount can use a bonus action to either Dash or Disengage.
Ride Down
Starting at 9th level, you can order your mount to chase after fleeing enemies. As a reaction, when an enemy moves out of your threatened area, you can order your mount to move up to its speed directly toward the triggering enemy.
Improved Couche Lance
Starting at 17th level, you become a master of the charge. On your first turn in combat, if you hit with an attack that triggers your Couche Lance ability, you deal maximum the damage instead of rolling it.
