Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Sage dedicate their lives to becoming someone worthy of the title Sage of Six Worlds. These monks believe that true wisdom can only be achieved through an intimate connection with the world around them. These monks bring the Ki found in every living thing into themselves, and use that Ki to fuel their abilities. The Sages that follow this way of life are regarded by many titles, but becoming a Sage of Six Worlds requires intense training and skill which most will never comprehend.

Natural Ki

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you begin to grasp Ki from the world around you. You gain a number of Natural Ki points equal to double your Proficiency modifier. For each point of normal Ki required to use a monk ability, you can spend two Natural Ki points instead. Additionally, your Natural Ki points can be used for later abilities in this subclass.

Your Natural Ki points replenish when you finish a long rest.

Natural Warrior

Additionally, when you choose this tradition at third level, you become more tuned in with nature and how to apply it to your attacks. You learn two cantrips of your choice from the druid spell list, and Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for them. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of these cantrips with another cantrip from the druid spell list.

Additionally, when you hit with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you may spend a Natural Ki point to add your wisdom modifier to that attacks damage.

Heightened Awareness

At 6th level, you become intimately aware of your surroundings at all times. You can add your Wisdom modifier to your initiative rolls, and you gain blindsight out to a range of 10 feet.

Additionally, when you roll for initiative, you can spend a Natural Ki point to roll with advantage.

Sages Form

Beginning at 11th level, you can enter a special form that exemplifies your connection with the world around you. This form shapes your appearance in special ways that are different for each person, but usually make the Sage look closer to a specific animal. Almost always however, the eyes change pupil and color to the animal the Sage shifts towards. As an action, you can spend 3 Natural Ki points to shift into this form, gaining the following benefits for a minute.

  • You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks to locate creatures, and creatures have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks to hide from you.
  • Your blindsight range increases to 20 feet.
  • You gain resistance to Acid, Necrotic, and Poison damage.
  • You gain immunity to being Charmed, Frightened, and Poisoned.
  • Your martial arts die is increased by one stage.

Sage of Six Worlds

At 17th level, you become a mythical Sage of Six Worlds, gaining mastery over every form of nature. As a Sage of Six Worlds you gain benefits even outside of your Sages Form. You gain the following list of benefits.

  • Other creatures don’t gain advantage on attack rolls against you as a result of being unseen by you.
  • You can’t be surprised while you are conscious.
  • When you make a Wisdom (Perception) check to locate a creature within 3,000 feet, you can spend 2 Natural Ki points to automatically succeed. If you are in your Sages Form, this range increases to 6,000 feet.
  • You can enter your Sages Form as a bonus action on your turn, instead of an action.
  • Your blindsight has a range of 30 feet, and becomes 60 feet while in your Sages Form.
  • While in your Sages Form, your walking speed is increased by 30 feet.
