Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

In the wake of the Dry March and the creeping advance of the Dust, more and more individuals have found themselves transformed by Primordy. In the deepest parts of the Dust, rumors have begun regarding folk able to bend the desert to their will, laying waste to their surroundings or bringing life-giving water to places previously barren. Dust Benders command Primordy through channeling their life force (CON), and, as such, tend to be quite hardy for spell casters. In addition, however, they risk exhaustion if they push themselves too far.

Dust Sense

Dust Sense allows a being to perceive its surroundings in a 10' radius, regardless of visibility. This is a variation on Blindsight, which enables travel through even the massive Haboob storms of the Dust.

Dust Devil

Starting at sixth level, you have the ability to create a whirling dust cloud centered on yourself with a 20' radius. Expending 2 sorcery points and using a reaction, this dust cloud wraps around corners and renders the area heavily obscured. Maintaining the Dust Devil does require concentration, up to a duration of 1 hour, much as a Fog Cloud. Unlike a Fog Cloud, the Dust Devil can move with its caster (if desired), and requires a much stronger (40+ mph) wind to be dispersed.

Flickering Wellspring

As a sorcerer drawing on the intrinsic link between Primordy and one's life energy, you run the risk of pushing too far and spending yourself, or possibly gaining enhanced effects as the Primordy powers into your casting. Each time a spell of level 1 or more is cast that you would like to try to enhance the effects of, roll d100: on an 01, gain a point of exhaustion, and on a 00, gain enhanced effects.

Enhanced effects are determined by the DM, though in general they would be one of the following: doubled damage for damaging spells, +5 to spell DC for effects requiring saves by targets, removal of a concentration requirement for concentration spells, doubled range, etc.

Sand Lash

Starting at 14th level, when you are hit by a melee attack, you can use your reaction to blind that opponent until the end of your next turn with a blast of sand. The attacker must also make a Strength saving throw against your sorcerer spell save DC. On a failed save, the attacker is pushed in a straight line up to 20 feet away from you.

Haboob Master

At 18th level, you gain extended dust sense out to 60' radius..

You also gain a magical flying speed of 60 feet. As an action, you can reduce your flying speed to 30 feet for 1 hour and choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you equal to 3 + your Constitution modifier. The chosen creatures gain a magical flying speed of 30 feet for 1 hour. Once you reduce your flying speed in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
