Bard
Base Class: Bard

To bards of plunder, no song sings quite as sweet as the song of gold. On the sea, their charge is to maintain morale through long voyages and turbulent storms. In port, they can often be found telling tales of their ventures to gain a reputation for their vessel.

In battle however, they are surprisingly deadly, as they often need to defend their ship from piracy and sea monsters alike through harmful spells and gunpowder alike, all while supporting their allies like only a true crew member does.

Ready for the Ship

Beginning when you choose this college at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with firearms, as well as water vehicles. While you carry a firearm, you can use it as an arcane focus.

Additionally, you gain the Archery fighting style (You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls you make with ranged weapons).

Clarion Shot

Also at 3rd level, whenever you hit with an attack made with a firearm, you can use one of the following Clarion Shot options of your choice. You can use only one Clarion Shot option per turn.

Bolstering Shot. You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target you hit. The damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die. Additionally, choose a creature you can see: they gain temporary hit points equal to the number rolled on your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier.

Dashing Shot. You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target you hit. The damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die. Additionally, you can move a number of feet equal to 10 + the number rolled on your Bardic Inspiration die, with any attacks of opportunity made with disadvantage.

Bloodthirsty Shot. You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target you hit. The damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die. Additionally, choose a creature you can see within 30 feet of you: they gain advantage on their next attack, and if it hits, it deals an additional 1d4 damage.

Forceful Shot. You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target you hit. The damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die. Additionally, the target must succeed on a Strength Saving throw or be knocked prone or 10 feet away from you (your choice).

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Powder Professional

At 14th level, you become a master of your craft on the treacherous seas. Whenever you score a critical hit with a Clarion Shot, you regain a Bardic Inspiration die, and you may expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to use a Clarion Shot.
