Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Disclaimer:

This subclass is strong because it has to be. With opting out of most magic melee weapons and "superior" subclass features, this subclass needed to be powerful in order to justify it’s creation and it’s choice to be picked.

As martial Classes already lack an immense amount of power and resources in comparasion to Casters. Casters being tankier, stronger, and more successful in and out of combat.
To make up in Control, Adaptability, and Magical problem solving; this Subclass AIMS to make a Martial class that doesn't suck like most of Barbarian's subclasses, or most Martial subclasses.

This subclass is made with the intention your campaign has custom Firearms and/or Custom Firearms systems. If not, this subclass can still function with albeit some redundancies.

This subclass attempts to make a interesting Ranged Barbarian that isn't another Crossbow Expert Sharpshooter build, due to Barbarian's short range and inpracticality in fights;
We're gonna give 'em some range while encouraging and focusing on Close-Combat, using Firearms and melee weapons to keep the Identity of being the frontline while giving options when out of range.
-As well as making fun combos for people to make their own Gunzerker. (Sneak Attack Phantoms[Literally just Reaper at that point], Battle-Master Minutemen, or Holy-Cow-boy Smites)

Gun-nut

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Firearms, allowing you to add your proficiency bonus to attacks made with firearms.
You gain proficiency with tinker’s tools and you may use them to craft ammunition at a quarter cost and repair at three-quarters of the Firearm's price.
Firearms with the Heavy trait use your constitution modifier for attacks and damage instead of dexterity.

Bull's Eye

At 3rd level, you can hone your frustration into the very powder, Lead, and flame of a Firearm.
Your ranged attacks with firearms now apply your Rage damage bonus and Rage abilities to firearms.
Additionally, any ability that effects melee attacks or strength will apply to your firearms as long as all other prerequisites are met.
-I.E. You cannot use the Battle-Master's Grappling strike maneuver on a target you cannot grapple.

Gunzerk!

Additionally at 3rd level, you gain a special repertoire of dice that enhance your abilities with firearms while raging known as "Gunzerk’s".
You have an amount of d6’s equal to twice your proficiency bonus called Gunzerker dice. you regain all your Gunzerker dice after a short rest.
Your Gunzerker dice become d8’s at level 8, d10’s at level 13, and d12’s at level 18.
You may expend dice to fuel certain actions and effects on the "Gunzerk's Table" (See "table" for details)

Gunzerk's Table

  • Obliterate.
Once per turn you may enhance your payload of one attack, when making an attack with a Firearm you may spend any amount of Gunzerker dice.
-If this attack hits, it deals additional damage equal to the total rolled.
-If this attack kills a creature, refund half the Gunzerker dice spent in this attack.
  • Spray’n’Prey.
Before you take any actions or movement this turn, you may use your bonus action and move speed to roll a Gunzerker die.
-The number rolled on your Gunzerker die gives you HALF that many additional attacks on top of the ones you already have with Firearms at half your Firearm's effective range.
    -(minimum of 1 bonus attack).
-These extra attacks do not apply your Dexterity or Constitution bonus to your attack roll.
  • Rearm.
When a Firearm suffers a misfire/jam, You may expend one Gunzerker die to instantly reattach or fix a misfired/jammed Firearm as a bonus action.
-(Depending on what Firearm system you are using discuss with your DM this Gunzerk. The intention is to mitigate the Risk of permanantly breaking your Firearms.)
  • Quick Draw.
You may expend one Gunzerker die and add the number to your initiative count either before or after you rolled initiative, but before combat order is initiated.
-If an enemy creature makes an attack against you after using this Gunzerk but before your first turn, you may make an attack of opportunity against them with a Firearm in retaliation before they hit you.
    -This attack cannot suffer disadvantage.
  • Hungering Shot.
After making a successful melee attack, you can expend a Gunzerker die to immediately make an additional Firearm attack at the same target.
-If you hit, you add the Gunzerker die to the attack's damage roll.
-The damage of the attack does not gain additional damage from Dexterity or Constitution.
-As apart of this Gunzerk!, you draw a single One-handed Firearm used for the attack and can immediately stow it away after the attack is made.

Trickle of Red

Starting at 6th level, the scent and taste of burning powder and the iron of both bullet and blood incite your rage further.
When you deal damage to a creature with a firearm, you may move closer to the target by 5ft which increases to 10ft at 9th level, 15ft at 12th, and 20ft at 18th.
Additionally, whenever you kill a creature you regain 1 Gunzerker die and increases to 2 Gunzerker die at 12th level.

Miss'n'Fire

At 10th level, while raging you can’t take no for an answer as long as you're the one with a peacemaker.
Once per turn when you miss an attack roll with a melee weapon you can immediately attack with a Firearm in your off-hand at your target without disadvantage as your second attack.
Additionally Once per turn, if you successfully make an attack with a melee weapon you can use your bonus action to immediately reload a Firearm.(Can reload before Hungering Shot's attack.)

Countdown

Starting at 14th level, while the anxiety and fear of being on your last bullet may cripple others you make them showstoppers.
When firing the last round in a firearm, the attack is made with advantage and deals additional damage equal to half the damage dice of the firearm used(rounded up).
If you previously would suffer disadvantage with ranged attacks within 5ft of a target, you no longer suffer disadvantage within 5 feet of a target with Firearms.
If not, you gain advantage on ranged attacks with Firearms against targets within 5ft.
