Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of the Note Weaver learn to see the music in everything around them. Whether finding the individual notes of each blow in combat, making a melody from the tones of a conversation, or even turning the sounds of a forest into a song, these bards use their abilities as composers to create new music.

College of the Note Weaver bards are very creative, quick thinking, and generally make good leaders.

Notes of Battle

When you join the College of the Note Weaver at 3rd level, you can shape your spells based on what is happening around you in combat. Whenever you take damage in combat and the damage type is one of the following: (acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, psychic, or thunder), you can choose to save that damage type and apply it to the next spell you cast, replacing the previous damage type of the spell.

Rewrite the Song

Also at 3rd level, you can warp the sounds around you granting yourself advantage on a saving throw. Once per long rest, you can choose to reroll a saving throw after rolling but before the DM has said if you failed or succeeded.

Composer's Notations

At 6th level, you gain the ability to altar spells on your own as you cast them. You choose two articulations. You can use them either as a reaction when a creature you can see casts a spell or on your turn when you cast a spell.

Accent

You increase the emphasis of a spell, making it hit harder. When a creature you can see within 60 ft hits with a spell attack, you can expend a bardic inspiration die and add it to the damage rolled.

Fermata

You stretch out a spell, lengthening it's duration. By expending a bardic inspiration die, you can extend the duration of any spell that doesn't have a duration of instantaneous. When you use this ability, roll the bardic inspiration die and half the number rolled and increase the duration by that amount.

Legato

You make a spell flow smoothly, shaping it around your allies. When an ally you can see within 60 ft. casts an area-of-effect spell, you can expend a bardic inspiration die. Roll the die, and you can choose up the number rolled of creatures to automatically succeed on the saving throw. If the creature also successfully saves, it instead take zero damage if it would have taken half, and only takes half damage on a failed save.

Repeat

You force a creature to repeat its actions. As an action, you can expend a bardic inspiration die. Choose a creature within 60 ft. This creature must make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. If the creature fails, it must take the same action that it did on its previous turn.

Sforzando

You can take the sounds of a spell and quiet them. As a reaction when you are effected by a spell with a saving throw, you can expend a bardic inspiration die to gain advantage on the save.

Staccato

Use short bursts of notes to grant allies more motivation. When initiative is rolled, you can expend a bardic inspiration die to grant your allies advantage on their initiative checks.

Chord of Finale

At 14th level, you can combine your allies attacks into one harmonious blow. You gain the 'Chord of Finale' ability. Once per short rest, you can use a bonus action to mark a creature. The next three attacks to hit the creature deal no immediate damage. However, once the third attack hits, you roll a d100. On an 91-100, all three hits are counted as criticals, and whomever hit rolls as such. On a 1-90, the hits are as rolled and whomever hit rolls damage as usual. If the marked creature dies from this damage, this ability recharges.
