Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Your blood burns with the flames of the Phoenix, a mythical creature known for its immortal cycles of life and death, bathing itself in flames to be endlessly reborn.

Everburning Arcana

1st-level Phoenix Soul subclass feature
You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Phoenix Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an evocation or a necromancy spell from the cleric, druid, or sorcerer spell list.

Phoenix Spells

Flaming Renewal

1st-level Phoenix Soul subclass feature

You’ve learned how to share the healing properties of your fire with those around you. When you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can spend a sorcery point to infuse the spell with healing magic. For every target hit by the spell, you can choose whether the spell deals damage as normal, or heals the target for the amount of fire damage they would have taken. When a spell is cast in this manner, targets chosen to receive healing do not need to have attack rolls made, nor do they need to roll saving throws.

Consumptive Flame

6th-level Phoenix Soul subclass feature

Your magic becomes enveloped with flame, augmenting the spells you cast with the flickering of your progenitor’s glory.

When you deal fire damage with a spell, the targets of that spell become lit with magical flames, dealing 1d4 fire damage at the end of their turns for 1 minute. Targets on fire from this effect may spend an action to put out these flames, but these flames do not go out from normal sources, such as being submerged underwater.

Additionally, when you cast a spell that heals a target, that target is similarly lit on fire, healing for 1d4 at the end of each of their rounds for 1 minute. The fire from this effect is put out if the inflamed target is hit by a melee attack from a creature on that creature’s turn.

These effects end if you or the target become incapacitated, and can be used a number of times equal to twice your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Feathered Fire

14th-level Phoenix Soul subclass feature

You can use a bonus action to manifest a pair of flaming wings from your back. While the wings are present, you have a flying speed of 30 feet. The wings last until you're incapacitated, you die, or you dismiss them as a bonus action.

The wings shed bright light for 60 feet, and dim light for an additional 60 feet, which can be suppressed at will.

Eternal Fire

18th-level Phoenix Soul subclass feature

As a reaction, if you fall below 0 hit points, you may spend 2 sorcery points to cast a 5th-level Fireball, centered on yourself. This Fireball is automatically affected by your Flaming Renewal subclass feature.
