Bards from the college of illustration utilize paintings and drawings rather than verbal story telling and song. Everyone knows a picture is worth a 1000 words
Natural born painter
3rd level college of Illustration feature
you gain proficiency painter's supplies and you can use them as your spell casting focus
Blank Canvas
3rd level college of Illustration feature
starting at level 3, as a reaction, you can use an inspiration die to conjure up a magical blank canvas on which you can draw on, depending on the art you depict it grants different affects according to the table below, as part of the same reaction you can send it to a creature you can see within 60ft granting them the effects:
Determination: when a creature you can see is reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, they drop to 1 hp instead
Enraged: when a creature you can see makes an attack, the attack gains advantage and they can reroll 1's on the damage rolls
Safety: when a creature you can see is hit by an attack that you can see, they gain temporary hp equal to your inspiration die + your charisma mod. The hp is applied before the damage
Calming: when a creature you can see is charmed or frightened, you can end the effect on them
Anxiety: when a creature you can see makes a saving throw, they gain a penalty equal to your inspiration die
Empathy: when a creature you can see attacks another creature you can see(including yourself), they must make a wis save equal to your spell dc. on a fail they must target another creature within range or drop the attack. on a success nothing happens.
Inspiration: When a creature you can see makes a check, you grant them advantage on that check
Happiness: when a creature you can see heals hp, they can heal for an additional amount equal to your inspiration die + your charisma bonus
Watermark
6th level college of Illustration feature
starting at level 6, you can spend 1 hour creating a magical etching/ drawing on a non magical object, the drawing must be at least 5"x 5" during the hour you can store one spell within it of 3rd level or lower that you have prepared, using the appropriate spell slot and components. A creature can use its action to ruin the painting such as smearing mud on it or scratching it to cast the spell within it without using a spell slot or materials. The spell uses your spell dc and attack bonus if applicable. after the spell is cast the etching/drawing fades away.
the drawing lasts until it is destroyed or until you use this feature again, in which case the older drawing fades away.
Magical Doors
14th level college of Illustration feature
starting at 14th level, you learn the passwall spell, it is always prepared and doesn't count against your number of prepared spells. Additionally you can cast passwall without using a spell slot a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. Whenever you cast passwall, the door lasts until you use a bonus action to magically erase it
