Base Class: Fighter
You are quite inept and slaying foes in swarms. Perhaps you trained against multiple teachers at a time, or you have been in several tavern brawls, perhaps you have been in many a duel with the town guard or, most likely, you just hate parties. Either way, you are skilled at taking on vast quantities of foes.
Cleave
At Level 3, you have the ability to move through enemies, cleaving them one by one. If you kill a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can move into that creature's square and/or gain another attack action. Additionally, when attacking an enemy with a melee weapon, you can add your proficiency modifier to the damage roll. You can use this specific ability equal to your DEX modifier (minimum of one) per long rest.
Swiping Blade
You gain the ability to attack multiple foes with one strike. As many times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus, you may strike as many foes within reach of you towards one side of you. If you are using a weapon that either a polearm or deals piercing damage, you may choose to instead attack in a straight line and double your normal weapon range.
Piercer
You grow accustomed to using ranged attacks against multiple enemies. When making a ranged attack, as many times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus, your shots can pierce through one target and attack the next as if the first weren't there, so long as the next target is in range. Your shot can hit as many targets in a line as your range can provide, moving into disadvantage once the range crosses the threshold.
Whirlwind
At Level 15, you have grown familiar amongst swarms of enemies, and can effectively annihilate hordes. You gain the following benefits:
- One additional charge to your Swiping Blade Ability.
- When you use your Swiping Blade Ability, you can now target all creatures surrounding you up to your melee weapon range.
- In addition, if you use a polearm or weapon with piercing damage, its attack range is doubled again (4x total), and all creatures in range must make a Dexterity Saving Throw equal to 8 + Proficiency Bonus + DEX or STR Modifier, and become either prone or grappled on a failure.
- When you use your Swiping Blade Ability, you can spend an additional charge, and all creatures within range are pushed up to 15ft. away and must make a DC 12 Strength Saving Throw or fall prone. Opportunity attacks cannot be provoked in this manner.
- When you use your Swiping Blade Ability, you can spend half of your possible charges (minimum of 2) to give all of your attacks the Whirlwind effect until the end of your next turn. You are not able to take any other actions, bonus actions, reactions, or free actions until the start of your next turn.
King of the Hill
You are unrivaled upon the mass battlefield. You have transcended beyond the mightiest warriors and, while one of them may or may not be able to best you in combat, none can stand a chance if they choose to fight you together. Strength in numbers, as it seems, is the opposite.
At Level 18, you gain the following benefits:
- Flanking no longer applies to you. In fact, if a creature attempts attempts to attack you, if you are between the attacker and another creature and the attacker misses, you can choose to make the attack hit the creature behind you as if you weren't there. If you do this, you can also choose to move 5ft. in any direction as a free action.
- You yearn for combat against the horde. If you choose, twice per long rest, you can choose to gain one of your hit dice in temporary hitpoints for every creature adjacent to you.
- Opportunity attacks against you have disadvantage.
