Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Arcanist are students of the mind and magic, lore and life.
For their unassuming appearance, their physical prowess, and their understanding of the arcane, they are well sought after as protectors and tutors to the princes and princesses, nobles and heirs of the world.
These arrangements are rarely one sided however, as such service grants these monks access to the levers of political power and influence.
Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, your study of arcane tomes and scrolls allows you to augment your martial prowess with the ability to cast spells.
Cantrips
You learn two cantrips of your choice from the artificer spell list. You learn an additional artificer cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Arcanist Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your artificer spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell catapult and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast catapult using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher
You know three 1st-level artificer spells of your choice.
The Spells Known column of the Arcanist Spellcasting table shows when you learn more artificer spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the artificer spells you know with another spell of your choice from the artificer spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
Spellcasting Ability
Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your artificer spells, since you learn your spells through study and memorization. You use your Intelligence whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for an artificer spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier

In addition, your mastery of arcane writings allows you to use Spell Scrolls from any spell list. You must still meet the spell level requirement otherwise you must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability to determine whether you cast it successfully.
Arcane Secrets
Beginning at 11th level, your study of magic allows you to learn one spell of your choice from any class. The spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the The Way of the Arcanist Spellcasting Table, or a cantrip. The chosen spell counts as an artificer spell for you but doesn't count against the number of artificer spells you know.
Spell Scribe
At 17th level, you can channel your ki to rapidly scribe Spell Scrolls. You can scribe a spell scroll for any artificer spell of 1st level or higher. It does not need to be an artificer spell you know, or even one you have the Spellcasting level to cast.
Scribing a spell in this manner requires you to channel your ki into the spell scroll. The Spell Scribing table shows the cost of creating a spell scroll of a given level. The ki channeled into rapidly scribing a spell scroll is contained within the scroll and the ki points used cannot be recovered by any means until the spell scroll is used or destroyed.
For each level of the spell scribed, the process takes 2 hours and costs 50 gp. You must also provide any material components required for the spell.
