Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Have you ever dreamed of being a magical lawyer, binding foes to vows that you bring upon them in a never ending crusade for justice, while also not tying yourself down to those fickle gods? Then the Law Mage is the class for you. Use your abilities to detain enemies that attempt to attack justice and hunt down those who violate the laws you put in place. Or take it the other way around, and use your knowledge of law and magic to break the rules of both.

Cease and Desist

When you are hit by an attack , you may order the enemy to stand down as a reaction. if you do, the enemy must make an Intelligence saving throw. A creature with an Intelligence score 4 or lower automatically passes the saving throw. On a failed saving throw, the target is paralyzed until the end of your next turn. This ability uses your concentration, as if you were casting a spell. If your concentration is broken, the effect ends. On your turn, if an enemy is paralyzed per the effects of this ability, you may use your action to force the target to make another Intelligence saving throw: on a failed save, the target remains bound until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, the effect ends.

Once the effect ends, either because you dismissed it willingly, your concentration was broken, the target succeeded a saving throw, or some other reason, you cannot use this again until a short rest.

Force Under Oath

Also at 2nd level, you become skilled in seeking out those who break the law, as well as discerning lies from truth. You add the spell Detect Evil and Good to your spellbook. It counts a sa wizard spell for you.

Additionally, you can use your action to force a target to speak under oath. The target must make an Intelligence saving throw or be compelled to speak only truth for 1 minute in the same way a Zone of Truth does. Once you do this, you cannot use this feature again until you finish a short rest.

Protected by Law

Starting at 6th level, you can use Cease and Desist when an ally would be hit by an attack.

Unending Justice

While you concentrate on Cease and Desist, you gain a +1 bonus to your AC and saving throws. In addition, if an enemy is under the effects of Cease and Desist when you start your turn, you can use a bonus action to continue the effect, rather than an action.

Cease your Resistance

You add the spell Mental Prison to your spellbook. You always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against your spell maximum.

While you concentrate on Mental Prison or Cease and Desist, you have advantage on all Constitution saving throws made to maintain concentration.
