Base Class: Paladin
With no particular inclination towards good or evil, grave paladins -also called death wardens, grave watchers, or holy undertakers- spend their lives guarding the gate between death and life. They concern themselves to extend the life of those who deserve it, and that those who die when the time is right, pass from the world as expected. They don't care about mere zombies or necromancy in general, since those things are mostly just tampering with the body of a creature; the problem comes when someone meddles with a creature's soul. They defeat those who seek to cheat death through undeath or other foul imitations of immortality, as well as to attempt to keep alive the innocents and those who would aid in this purpose. They put restless spirits to rest, destroy the undead wherever they find them, and ease the suffering of dying creatures.
Tenets of the Grave
Guide the Soul. Death is not an ending, but a beggining. Seek out souls that have passed or are soon to pass and ensure that they are spoken for in the afterlife. Bless battlefields, places of plague, leave no soul unrecognized.
Defend the Soul. The soul is what really matters on a living being, and tampering with it the most heinous of crimes. Prevent its manipulation and the unnatural prolonging of death, guide the undead back to eternal slumber.
Kindle the Soul. Grave paladins can be easily consumed by their mission, finding themselves frequently isolated from the living that they are and seek to protect. Keep company with them and value the life they currently live.

Winnower of the Rotten
Beginning when you first choose this oath at 3rd level, your duty bound conviction lets you find and harm those that desecrate death more easily. You may expend a use of your Divine Sight feature to gain advantage on all Wisdom (Survival) checks made to track undead and Charisma(Intimidation) checks against undead for 1 hour.
Additionally, whenever you detect an undead through your Divine Sight feature, you learn its type and whether it has any damage vulnerabilities.
Channel Divinity
Also at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Destroy Desecrators. As an action you cause divine energy to emenate from you threatening to destroy your foul enemies around you. All creatures within 30 feet of you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed safe, a creature takes radiant damage equal to twice your paladin level + your charisma modifier, or half as much on a succesful save. An undead makes this saving throw with disadvantage.
Give Life. When you use your Lay on Hands feature, you may use your Channel Divinity (no action required) to restore additional Hit Points equal to twice your paladin level + your charisma modifier.
Aura of the Veil
Starting at 7th level, you learn to control the boundary between life and death. You have advantage against death saving thtrows and resistance to necrotic damage, and as long as you are conscious, allies within 10 feet of you have advantage on death saving throws and resistance to necrotic damage.
When you reach 18th level in this class, the range of the aura increases to 30 feet.
Searing Hands
At 15th level, you can burn away the undead simply with your touch. You gain a new option to make with the attack action. You can make a melee spell attack against a creature and, on a hit, expend any number of Hit Points from your Lay on Hands pool. The attack deals radiant damage equal the amount of Hit Points spent + your Charisma modifier. You make this attack with advantage if the target is an undead.
Grave Judge
At 20th level, you gain the ability to become a divine judge of life and death. As an action, you may enact this transformation, gaining the following benefits for 1 minute:
- All attacks you make are under the effects of the searing smite spell at 1st level.
- Your pool of Hit Points for Lay on Hands is fully replenished when you first activate this featureand you restore 2 hit points for every Hit Point expended from the pool, as well as deal 2 damage for every Hit Point expended for your Searing Hands feature.
- Your Destroy Desecrators damage range is extended to 60 feet, and all undead automatically fail their saving throw.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
