Base Class: Wizard
Fools, madmen, heretics, and power-hungry future despots. These are among the kinder sobriquets appended to the members of a guild dedicated to discovering the lost lore of the Prismatic Council. For some members, perhaps even a majority, this may not be off the mark. Whatever the individual's reasons, however, the Guild of Lore Finders is a secretive society that seeks not only to find and archive, but put into practice the arcane knowledge of the ancient Prismatic Council.
As individuals, Guild members tend to be narrowly focused, presenting themselves as treasure seekers, scholars, monster hunters, and the like. As such, they tend to be rough and tumble compared to the stereotypical wizard, proficient in light armor, a martial weapon of choice, and investigation if not already proficient.
Scholars of Action
Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you gain proficiency with light armor, a martial weapon of your choice, and investigation, if not already proficient.
Primordy Sense
Starting at 2nd level when you choose this school, you can cast Detect Magic as an action without using a spell slot or needing to have the spell prepared. This effect is subject to concentration rules, and last for 10 minutes or until you discontinue it.
Interrupt Primordy Link
Beginning at 6th level, you may attempt to cut off an attuned magic item from its user or cease the functioning of a piece of arcanatech being used by a creature you can see within 30 feet of you as an action. The individual with the attunement or operating the piece of arcanatech must make an Intelligence saving throw against your wizard spell save DC. On a failed save, an attuned item loses its attunement, or an operating piece of arcanatech stops its operating ritual. In the case of an attunded item, the user must reattune the item according to the item's description. In the case of operating arcanatech, the ritual is dispelled as though Dispel Magic was cast on it, and it needs to be restarted according to the description of the arcanatech ritual. Unattuned magic items and non-operating arcanatech are not affected by this feature.
Enhanced Primordy Sense
Starting at 10th level, when you use your Primordy Sense, your sense also provides the effects of the Identify spell, without using a spell slot or preparing that spell. You may also attempt to Dispel Magic on magical effects you have sensed as another action at the cost of a third or higher level spell slot.
Tap Ley Lines
Starting at 14th level, you can increase the power of your simpler spells by channeling directly from lines of Primordy. When you cast a wizard spell of 1st through 5th level that deals damage, you can deal maximum damage with that spell.
The first time you do so, you suffer no adverse effect. If you use this feature again before you finish a long rest, you take 2d12 force damage for each level of the spell, immediately after you cast it. Each time you use this feature again before finishing a long rest, the force damage per spell level increases by 1d12. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.
