Having trained and meditated in raging storms-at sea, atop mountains, in deep canyons- you are able to wield the storm as part of you fighting style.

Rage of the Storm

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you are able to add the force of the storm to your unarmed strikes.

You add lightning or thunder damage (your choice) to all unarmed attacks you make equal to your proficiency bonus.

Additionally, immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 1 ki points to add 1 martial arts damage dice of lightning or thunder damage.  You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier.  You regain uses after a short or long rest.

Thunderous Arc Strike

At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your ki into searing waves of energy. Immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 2 ki points to cast the thunderwave spell as a bonus action.

You can spend additional ki points to cast thunderwave as a higher-level spell. Each additional ki point you spend increases the spell’s level by 1. The maximum number of ki points (2 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the spell equals half your monk level.

Thunderous Step

At 11th level, you gain the ability to instantly teleport yourself in a crash of thunder. As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to cast the thunder step spell.

You can spend additional ki points to cast thunder step as a higher-level spell. Each additional 2 ki points you spend increases the spell’s level by 1. The maximum number of ki points (3 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the spell equals half your monk level.

Storm Aura

At 17th level, you can become wreathed in crackling storm energy. You shed dim light in a 30-foot radius. You can extinguish or restore the aura as a bonus action.

If a creature hits you with a melee attack while this aura is active, you can use your reaction to deal lightning or thunder damage to the creature. The damage equals 5 + your Monk level.
