Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Death is an ever present threat in tribal lands. The Path Of The Deathless is taken up by barbarians who not only accept the inevitability of death, but seek to bend it to their will. When in a rage, a barbarian of this path strikes at the forces of life within his enemies to fuel himself.

Death Shroud

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you gain the ability to steal the life of your enemies to shield yourself. The bonus to damage rolls granted by your Rage feature becomes necrotic damage. Additionally, while raging you can use a bonus action to deal necrotic damage to each creature you have damaged with this feature on the current turn. The additional damage a creature takes is equal to the previous necrotic damage it took on this turn. You then gain temporary hit points equal to the total necrotic damage you have dealt in the current turn.

You lose any temporary hit points gained from this feature when your rage ends.

Deaths Embrace

Starting at 6th level, your embrace of death has made you resistant to the worst effects of creatures that cheat it. While raging, you gain resistance to necrotic damage, and your hit point maximum can't be reduced.

Presence of Demise

Beginning at 10th level, as a bonus action, you embody death and can extend the shadows that wreath your form, feeding off of the fear of your foes. Until the start of your next turn, whenever a hostile creature within 10 feet of you willingly moves away from you, the creature must make a Wisdom Saving Throw (DC equal to 8 = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). On a failure, the creature is frightened and their speed is reduced to 0. Additionally, when you reduce a frightened creature to zero hitpoints, you then gain temporary hit points equal to double the total necrotic damage you have dealt in the current turn.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Rage after Death

Beginning at 14th level,  the essence of death that fuels your rage allows you to shrug off fatal blows.

While you’re raging, having 0 hit points doesn’t knock you unconscious. You still must make death saving throws, and you suffer the normal effects of taking damage while at 0 hit points. However, if you would die due to failing death saving throws, you don’t die until your rage ends, and you die then only if you still have 0 hit points.
