Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Unburdened teaches its students to move with as if they were at their peak physical form at all times. An unburdened is unable to feel the wounds and injuries that would otherwise incapacitate another's actions. An unburdened that has mastered their art will even be able to shrug off both physical and magical bindings with ease.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Athletics and Acrobatics skills if you don't already have them. Your martial arts training has allowed you to hone your physical prowess.
Mind Over Matter
At 3rd level, you have learned how to overcome trials of the body through sheer force of will. When making a Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution saving throw, add your Wisdom modifier in addition to your other modifiers and bonuses.
Ki-Fueled Movement
Starting at 6th level, you enhance your movement with ki. You can spend ki points to do the following:
- Reflexive Strike. As a reaction, before an attacking creature would otherwise hit you with a spell attack, ranged weapon attack or melee weapon, you can spend 1 ki point to make a melee weapon attack against that creature, if they are in range.
- One More Step. You can spend 1 ki point to add an additional 10 feet to your speed for the rest of your turn. You can spend multiple ki points this way on your turn.
- Unshackled. If you are currently under the effects of one of the following conditions; grappled, restrained, paralyzed, or petrified; you can spend 1 ki point to give yourself advantage on your next saving throw against that condition.
Peak Performance
Starting at 11th level, your physicality has reached new heights. You gain Expertise in the in the Athletics and Acrobatics skills if you don't already have them. Furthermore, if your total for a Strength check or Dexterity check is less than your Strength score or Dexterity score, you can use either score in place of the total.
Martial Expertise
Starting at 17th level, when you would roll a Martials Arts die, roll two instead and use both. This applies to unarmed strikes and monk weapon attacks, and includes the Quickened Healing optional monk feature.
Further Beyond
At 17th level, you have truly evolved beyond any normal limits. If you would fail any saving throw, or any ability check involving Strength, Dexterity or Constitution, you can spend 2 ki points to succeed that saving throw or ability check instead.
