Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with a fallen solar or archdevil who resides in the Blood Rift, the passageway between the Nine Hells and the Abyss. These beings have been marked by an ever bleeding wound that leaves a brand of blood across their bodies. This brand has been applied to you, marking your pact with your patron. The brand appears to you as a marking in red such as a warrior's war paint, when you unleash the power of your brand it begins to bleed. As you grow in power the resting state of the marking becomes more like wet blood, though it never smudges or drips.

Perhaps you made this pact in desperation to save the life of an ally, or maybe you are seeking ultimate power to conquer your foes? Either way, you have been tasked with spreading this brand and collecting blood to fuel your patron's dark magic.

Branding Mark

1st-level Branded King feature

As a bonus action, you can cause a brand to emanate from your hand and send it up to 120ft away to another creature. You deal an additional 1d8 Necrotic damage to that creature when you hit it with your first attack each turn.

Your brand lasts until you dismiss it or you apply a brand to another creature.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per short rest.

Blood Letting

6th-level Branded King feature

Your ability to control the blood of your marked opponents has grown. As a bonus action, you can perform one of the following against any number of creatures within 60 ft of you that you have marked.

  • Hemorrhage You cause the brand to bleed dealing 1d8 necrotic damage to the target.
  • Invigorate You absorb the blood of the creature gaining 1d10 temporary hit points.
  • Coagulate You cause the creature to make a Constitution saving throw, reducing its speed by 10ft on a failed save.

Acolyte of Blood

10th-level Branded King feature

You gain the ability to permanently mark a friendly creature with a separate brand. While the creature is marked this way, you and it have resistance to necrotic damage. When you gain temporary hit points through your Invigoration ability you can apply the temporary hit points to you and the branded creature.

You always know the location of the creature branded this way. If you apply the brand to another creature the previous brand disappears.

Scourge of the Branded King

14th-level Branded King feature

The power of your brand has grown. You can apply your brand to more than one creature; in addition, hostile creatures marked by your brand have their speed reduced by 5ft.

When a hostile creature marked by your brand dies, its body explodes sending blood flying in all directions. You can apply your Branding Mark to two creatures within 60ft of the creature who died. When those creatures die you can repeat the action for each creature. There is no limit to the number of creatures that can be marked in this way.
