Base Class: Sorcerer
Your power stems from a symbiotic relationship between your own body and the magically charged spores that inhabit it. Maybe you or one of your ancestors was infected by a rare strain of mold, either accidentally or at the hands a mad experimenter. Maybe you trace your powers back to Zuggtmoy, the demon queen of fungus. Maybe you willingly embraced symbiosis as part of a strange druidic ritual that left you forever changed.
Sorcerers with the fungal origin often display some telltale mark, such as pallid skin, fine gill-like structures around the eyes and ears, or a permanent earthy odor. These signs of power become more obvious as your pwoer grows.
Spore Cloud
From 1st level, you are surrounded by a invisible cloud of spores. The spores can pass through any space that allows for airflow but cannot pass through solid objects. The spores function underwater as well, although when in water they are visible as a fine gray cloud.
Growth and Decay
Starting at 1st level, when you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can convert some of the energy to speed up growth or decay in another creature. Immediately after casting the spell, roll a number of d4s equal to the level of the spell. You can either give a creature within 30 feet of you that number of temporary hit points or deal that much necrotic damage to a creature within 30 feet of you.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Myconic Filters
The spores inhabiting your body change it in strange ways. Beginning at 6th level, the spores in your bloodstream act as filters, giving you increased resilience to poison and other toxins. You have resistance to poison damage.
Soothing Spores
Beginning at 6th level, you can cause your spores take on a mild psychoactive effect. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 sorcery point to gain advantage on Charisma ability checks against a target within 30 feet of you for 1 minute.
Sight Beyond Sight
At 14th level, your symbiotic connection to your spores becomes so strong that you can extend your senses through them. You gain blindsight with a range of 10 feet.
Improved Myconic Filters
The spores inhabiting your body continue to later your physiology. Beginning at 14th level, the changes to your internal organs make you immune to disease.
Complete Symbiosis
Beginning at 18th level, you can spend 6 sorcery points as a bonus action to concentrate your spore cloud around you, augmenting your offense and defense. During this time, you gain the following benefits:
- When you use Growth and Decay, you can both deal damage and provide temporary hit points.
- You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- When you cast a spell that deals poison or necrotic damage, it deals extra damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
This effect last for one minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you die, or if you end it as a bonus action.
