Base Class: Cleric

The Soul Domain seeks to understand the universe through the experiences of those which have passed. They are known to tap into the afterlife, sometimes known as the Underworld, Hell, the Ferry of the Damned, or the House of Osiris depending on the culture. Those of the Order of Souls focus their "worship" on the study of this afterlife, and how to tap into the souls of the damned and use their knowledge for their own gain. Soul Clerics believe that all they need for their power or gain can come from those that came before. Those who choose the domain of Souls for their focus are illuminated by the whispers of the past to guide the future. 

Knowledge from Beyond

1st level Soul Domain feature

You learn two languages of your choice, and you gain proficiency in an artisan's tool or musical instrument of your choice. You also become in your proficient in the choice of two of the following skills: Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion.

Additionally, when you reach 5th level in this class, souls called by your behest to answer your questions are more eager to aid you. Whenever you use your Channel Divinity: Whispers of the Dead or cast Speak with Dead, the souls you call back are compelled to tell you the truth if able to.

Skill of the Grave

1st level Soul Domain feature

Whenever you make a skill check or saving throw, you can use your reaction to add a bonus to the result equal to your proficiency bonus.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one). You regain all expended uses at the end of a long rest.

Channel Divinity: Whispers of the Dead

2nd level Soul Domain feature.

You can look unto the soul beyond the veil to divine some information from a recently deceased creature. You select one creature who has died no more than 10 days ago and spend 1 minute performing a simple ritual to gain knowledge from the soul which has passed on. You learn the time and cause of death of this creature. Additionally, you can ask one yes or no question to the spirit of the corpse, which the DM must answer to the best of their ability.

Shroud of the Damned

6th level Soul Domain feature

You have learned to call forth spirits of the damned to protect those around you. As a bonus action, you can select a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The designated creature gains a shroud of spirit energy which decreases the damage they take the next time the target takes damage by a number equal to your wisdom modifier. The shroud lasts for one minute, and you can only have one shroud active at a time. This damage reduction is counted before any other sources of damage reduction, including resistances or immunities.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Potent Spellcasting

8th level Soul Domain feature

You add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip.

Keeper of Souls

18th level Soul Domain feature

You gain a modicum of control over the moment of death for some creatures. Whenever a creature dies within 60ft of you, you gain temporary hit points equal to the number of the creatures hit dice. You only gain the benefit from this if you aren't incapacitated. Once you have used this feature, you cannot use it again until the start of your next turn.
