Base Class: Fighter
The Brute is a master of close-range combat, and they can use their hulking bodies to manipulate their foes on the battlefield. The brute is able to toss around foes like playthings, and use the enemies own attacks against them.
Brute Strength
Starting at 3rd level, whenever you make an attack using Strength, you may add an additional d4 of damage. You may do this after determining if the attack hit or not. You may do this a number of times per long rest equal to your Strength modifier.
Stocky Build
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the Intimidation skill
Trample
Beginning at 7th level, whenever you add a Brute Strength die to your attack, the target must make a DC 13 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the target is pushed back 10. Additionally, whenever you attack an enemy, if you spent at least 15 feet of movement before the attack, the target must make a DC 13 Strength saving throw, on a failed save, they are knocked prone.
Additionally, the size of your Brute Strength die increases to a d6
Retaliation
Beginning at 10th level, whenever you are hit with an attack, you may, as a reaction, roll your Brute Strength die. You may subtract the number rolled from the amount of damage that would have been dealt. The attacking creature suffers that damage instead. You may do this a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier divided by 2, rounded down. You regain all expended uses on a short or long rest.
Additionally, the size of your Brute Strength die increases to a d8
Skewer
Beginning at 15th level, whenever you use a Brute Strength die, if two enemies are within 5 feet of each other, and you are adjacent to no more than one of them, you may attack both of them at the same time. When you do this, use the attack roll for the first target, and compare it against the AC of the second target. If both attacks hit, roll separate damage rolls for each target. You may also apply abilities from other subclass features, such as Trample.
Additionally, the size of your Brute Strength die increases to a d10.
Decisive Blow
Beginning at 18th level, Once per long rest, as an action, if any enemy within 5 feet of you is at or below 30 hit points, you may instantly kill them. You are unable to kill Legendary creatures this way.
Additionally, the size of your Brute Strength die increases to a d12.
