Base Class: Rogue
Many rogues are hidden in the shadows. You however have been taught to live in the spotlight. Deceptive and enchanting, those who follow this path are trained in the art of jests and juggling, and knife throwing. That at the very least is all you appear to be on the outside. You excel at distracting the enemy, getting in their way, and striking when they least expect it. However, your true objective is to always be by your liege's side ready to fight for or protect them should the occasion occur.
Proficiency
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Performance and Sleight of Hand skills if you don’t already have them. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of those proficiencies.
Distracting Performance
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to distract your enemies in the middle of combat. As a bonus action, you can make a Charisma (Deception) check against a creature you can see that isn’t incapacitated, contested by the target’s Wisdom (Insight) check. If you succeed, the next creature to damage the target rolls additional damage dice equal to a roll of your Sneak Attack. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Weapon Juggling Master
At 9th level, you have become a master of your craft, being able to quickly and accurately strike your opponents. You gain the following benefits.
- Attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on your thrown weapon attack rolls.
- You can draw a weapon that has the thrown property as part of the attack you make with the weapon.
Additionally, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, you can instead use one of the following techniques.
- Triple Toss. You throw your weapons with unnerving speed. Make up to three attacks with separate thrown weapons. After you make these three attacks the weapons magically return to your hands.
- Pin Point Accuracy. Attempting to blind your target, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If the attack hits, in addition to taking normal damage the target of the attack is blinded until the start of your next turn.
You can use either of these techniques a total number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Noble Sacrifice
Starting at 13th level, you can finally join the ranks of the protectors of the nobles'. When a creature you can see within 30 feet of you is targeted by an attack or spell you can magically teleport to them. You push them 5 feet away and become the target instead. When you use your Noble Sacrifice feature, you can use your Uncanny Dodge feature as part of the same reaction.
You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Play Dead
At 17th level, you have learned how to act more hurt than you actually are. When you have to make a death saving throw at the start of your turn, you can instead spring back to your feet ready to strike. You regain hit points equal to half your hit point maximum, and then you stand up if you so choose. The next attack you make on this turn you make the attack with advantage.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
