Bard
Base Class: Bard

From professional chefs to line cooks, from busy parents to street vendors, College of Flavour bards are known worldwide for their love and appreciation of food, as well as their magical connection to it. With nothing but a few simple ingredients, a College of Flavour bard can whip up a delicious, enriching meal which will stick to your guts and make you feel as though you are prepared to take on the world! Which is why College of Flavour bards have become famous for supporting their adventuring groups through difficult trials with the precision application of wondrous foods. Bards of this College draw their inspiration from the study of a powerful universal force known as the Phantasmal Crockpot, a spectral entity which they say pervades all of time and space, which makes itself known through the preparation of food. And it's so simple, too - I can get you the recipe.

A Light Snack

3rd-level College of Flavour feature

Whenever you give a creature a Bardic Inspiration die, you can recall an ingredient from the Phantasmal Crockpot to create a tiny light snack, which orbits within 5 feet of that creature. The snack is intangible and invulnerable, and it lasts until the Bardic Inspiration die is lost. The snack looks like a slice of bacon, a macaron, a grape, or any other food item that you choose.

When the creature uses the Bardic Inspiration die, the snack provides an additional effect based on whether the die benefits an ability check, an attack roll, or a saving throw, as detailed below:

Ability Check. When the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die to add it to an ability check, the creature can roll the Bardic Inspiration die again and choose which roll to use, as the snack finds its way into the creature's mouth. No matter what form the snack takes, it always tastes to a creature like that creature's favourite food.

Attack Roll. Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die to add it to an attack roll against a target, the snack implodes into a bright light. The target and each creature of your choice that you can see within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or take radiant damage equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die.

Saving Throw. Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die and adds it to a saving throw, the snack vanishes with the aroma of a delicious feast, causing the creature to gain temporary hit points equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die plus your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1 temporary hit point).

Comfort Food

Food has the power to give people strength and push them to their limits. At level 3, whenever you take a short rest and use Song of Rest, the value healed by each party member is doubled. You are also proficient with Cook's Utensils if you aren't already, and you make all checks with Cook's Utensils with Expertise.

Additionally, you gain access to spells to assist you in your meal prep. At level 3, you know the spell Goodberry and can cast it as a ritual with no material components. At level 6, you learn Create Food and Water, and at level 14 you learn Heroes' Feast. These spells do not count against your Known Spells.

Improved Comfort Food

6th-level College of Flavour feature

You have honed your culinary knowledge for the purpose of healing and restoration. At level 6, whenever you gain the benefits of a short rest, all who partake gain the additional effects of the spell Lesser Restoration.

Iron Chef

6th-level College of Flavour feature

While you may lack the formal sword and shield training your party may have received, your skills with a chef's knife are nothing to scoff at. At level 6, you gain the ability to use your Cook's Utensils in battle. Your Utensils have the Finesse property, and you are considered proficient in wielding them. Damage for all Utensils is 1d6 plus the modifier used for the attack roll. These weapons are considered magic for the purpose of overcoming resistances.

Additionally, you can choose to don your cooking implements (such as pots and pans) to serve as armor for a time. As an action, you can cast the spell Pan Shot!  This spell causes your cooking implements to float in the air around you without impeding your vision or movement. For the duration of the spell, you can add your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) to your AC for the next 10 minutes, or until you willingly dismiss your armor. The armor functions as heavy armor, and you cannot use this feature if you are currently wearing heavy armor.

Sharing is Caring

14th-level College of Flavour feature

When you successfully inspire someone, the overwhelming flavour of your culinary skills can now spread to someone else. When a creature within 60 feet of you adds one of your Bardic Inspiration dice to its ability check, attack roll, or saving throw and the roll succeeds, you can use your reaction to encourage a different creature (other than yourself) that can see you within 60 feet of you, giving it a Bardic Inspiration die without expending any of your Bardic Inspiration uses.

You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
