Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of Answers sets a paladin on an arduous path, one that requires the conviction to dedicate oneself to a constant pursuit of knowledge in a sea of falsehoods and propaganda. Paladins who dedicate themselves to this oath previously found themselves in a place of doubt, unable to understand the meaning behind creation and the mysteries that life holds. These paladins find conviction in their belief that there is an explanation for everything, and that through great effort, the truth can be found. However, they are aware that some things happen for no reason, but that that in itself is a truth that can be discovered. Be it through the smiting of those that would suppress truth and the dissemination of knowledge, or through careful revision of ancient texts, a paladin sworn to this oath will stop at nothing to find the answers they seek. Because of this, paladins who follow this path are known as seekers.
TENETS OF UNCOVERING ANSWERS
The tenets of the Oath of Answers hold a paladin to a high standard of the pursuit of truth.
Discovery. The greatest gift one can attain is a higher understanding of what is and what is not. By forging a path through the dark of what is unknown, we may be saved through what is yet discovered. Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
Truth. What is and what is not should not be dictated by those that aim to paint their own perspective as the only acceptable truth. Seek out harmful dishonesties, dispelling them where you can. Lies may have their time and place, but that place is not in the belief of the masses, especially if it is to their detriment.
Patience. Discovery takes time. Those who have walked the path of the doubt must be given reminders to keep searching. Once you have planted the seed of curiosity in a creature, you must work day after day to allow it to survive and then flourish.
Pursuit of Knowledge. Your heart and mind must stay clear, focused on the path ahead. Never grow complacent, always seek out knowledge. If we are not continuously learning, then we are truly dead in the soul. Understanding the greater truths of existence and how or why things are should always be at the forefront of your aims. To experience is to grow, and to grow is to live.

Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
- Sow Uncertainty. As an action, you speak to a creature, seeding doubt in their mind, using your Channel Divinity. Choose one creature within 30 feet of you that you can see. That creature must make a Charisma Saving Throw. On a failed save, the creature has Disadvantage on all Attack Rolls and Ability Checks until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, the creature must stop to steady their thoughts, reducing their speed to 0 on their next turn, but suffering no further effect.
- Divine Discovery. As a bonus action, you can quickly analyze a creature you can see within 15 feet of you, using your Channel Divinity. You learn all of the targeted creatures damage vulnerabilities, damage resistances, damage immunities, and condition immunities.
Aura of Discovery
Starting at 7th level, you and allied creatures within 15 feet of you have advantage on Wisdom (Insight) and Wisdom (Investigation) checks. Additionally, you and all allies within range of this aura are immune to the Surprised condition.
Corrupting Knowledge
Starting at 15th level, the conviction with which you speak your Sow Uncertainty gives you a moment of opportunity to strike them deeply as they question their convictions. A creature under the effect of your Sow Uncertainty becomes Vulnerable to the damage of the next attack you make against them.
Idol of Revelations
At 20th level, you have become an emissary of truth, paving the way toward the final discovery of all the answers you’ve desired to the questions that used to plague your mind, which gives you the following benefits.
- You are immune to Psychic damage.
- You are immune to being Charmed or Stunned.
- Whenever a creature that can hear you damages you, you may use your reaction to speak a truth of their being that shakes them to their core. The creature must make a Charisma Saving Throw. On a failed save, the creature becomes Stunned until the end of their next turn and Frightened of you for 1 minute. On a successful save there is no effect, and they are immune to this ability for 24 hours.
