Base Class: Fighter
Sometimes a career in adventuring is more happenstance than anything else. But there is a phrase you and your ilk are all too familiar with. Play it where it lies. You may consider yourself more of a Golfer than an Adventurer, or perhaps you find the sport to be the perfect way to relax as you battle your way out of a dungeon filled with various monsters. Either way, you are very rarely without a club and set of golf balls.
Gentleman Sport
3rd level Gentleman Golfer feature
As a Golfer, you learn the Putt Attack. This allows you to launch an object of Tiny or smaller as a Ranged Weapon attack a distance of equal to Dex x 30 feet. This attack is considered finesse, and deals 1d6 + Str or Dex modifier in bludgeoning damage. After a Putt attack, you may move up to half your movement speed (at no movement cost) to the object you launched. As you take this movement Attacks of Opportunity are made against you at disadvantage. As a bonus action on your first turn in initiative, you may Tee Up an Object that is Tiny or smaller. Using the Tee Up bonus action allows you to make a Putt attack, with advantage. After your first turn, you cannot use the Tee Up bonus action.
Area Analysis
3rd level Gentleman Golfer feature
A Golfer must know how to survey an area for the best shots. You become proficient with Survival, and may use a bonus action to survey the area and get advantage on the first attack of your turn.
Bank Shot
7th level Gentleman Golfer feature
A golfer must learn to adapt, you have slightly stranger adaptations to acquire. Whether in a dungeon or a forest, your targets have a tendency to hide behind objects. If there is an object within your range such as a tree, wall, barrel, or crate, you can launch a Putt attack and attempt to hit the creature from off the object, with a distance of half your typical Putt range. After 15th level you may make this Bank Shot off of creatures.
Golfer's Rage
10th level Gentleman Golfer feature
The sun was in your eyes, the wind was off, and that monster was just a little too loud. Regardless of the reason, you missed your shot. It wasn’t your fault, but you need to do something with the anger. If you miss a Putt attack, you can use your bonus action to make a Golfer’s Swing, and make a melee weapon attack against a creature in range with whatever you were using to make your Putt attack. The attack is still finesse, and deals 1d8 + Str or Dex mod in damage.
Improved Bank Shot
15th level Gentleman Golfer feature
As your aim has gotten better, so have your Bank Shots. Not only can your Putt attack now bounce off of creatures, but can bounce a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You may only Bank Shot with one Attack Action, the rest must be normal Attacks or Putt attacks.
Hole in One
Your power and accuracy have transformed your Putt attacks. Your Putt attacks now deal 1d10 + Str or Dex mod damage.
Additionally you learn two special Putt attacks, which you can use on your first attack of each turn.
- Power Shot - Your range doubles, but must travel in a straight line. It also deals an extra 1d8 fire damage.
- Trick Shot - Your range halves, but the number of Bank Shots doubles. It also deals an extra 1d8 lightning damage.
