Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Path of Viscera is not for the light hearted, as it is one full of constant turmoil. Taking on the brand of sacrifice allows those that walk the path to channel their rage toward the right creatures. While their armor allows them to overcome most any challenge. They are often feared, whispered about in the same fearful tones one might whisper of the blood hunters that walk the world. The Path is respected, but often people would rather avoid prolonged contact with one who walks it.

Armor of Viscera

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you summon forth armor while raging. This armor takes on an appearance that reflects the wearer's inner self or intent, and numbs the wearer to pain from strikes, allowing them to push beyond normal limits. This often leads to wearers being drenched in not only their own blood, but the blood of their enemies. While raging, you can add your proficiency bonus to your armor class.

Brand of Sacrifice

At 3rd level, you take on the Brand of Sacrifice in a ceremony of blood, stranding you in the boundary of the physical and the ethereal. This brand alerts the user to nearby creatures such as monstrosities, fiends, undead, or a creature of evil alignment. As an action, concentrate on the brand. It will cause a surge of pain, bleeding if any monstrosities, fiends, or undead are within 60 feet of the branded.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Constitution modifier. When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses.

Absorb Viscera

Starting at 6th level, when you damage a creature with an attack you can choose to absorb some of their life essence into your armor. The armor then filters it back into the wearer, targeting areas of injury and healing them for 1d12.

You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Visceral Strikes

At 10th level, your armor of viscera has begun to affect the weapons you wield. You can now add your proficiency modifier to the damage on your strikes while raging.

Visceral Rage

Beginning at 14th level, the armor that wraps your form strengthens, allowing you to overcome your previous limits.

While you’re raging, having 0 hit points doesn’t knock you unconscious. You still must make death saving throws, and you suffer the normal effects of taking damage while at 0 hit points. However, if you would die due to failing death saving throws, you don’t die until your rage ends, and you die then only if you still have 0 hit points.
