Base Class: Barbarian
Those who choose to take up the Path of the Revenant do not use tribal rituals to awaken their rage. They do not call upon the spirits of their ancestors, reach out to a god for strength, or channel energy from nature. These warriors believe taking strength from an unfamiliar source could only result in betrayal. Those who take up the Path of the Revenant channel their own grief and misfortune into an unquenchable anger that makes even the most mighty warriors cower in fear. These barbarians are driven mad with a hunger for revenge. Whether they will stop at nothing to destroy those who caused them to lose everything, or they simply wish to take out their rage upon the cruel and unfair world that ruined their life, Path of the Revenant barbarians channel their anger to terminate anyone who dare oppose their rage. Many may call these warriors insane, crazy, or rabid, but how can one afford not to be a little mad in a world where the cruel thrive, the just starve, and the feeble whims of fate determine the life and death of every creature? These are the beliefs of the ones who take up this unusual path: trust noone, do not fear insanity, and make sure that those who wrong you will regret that decision for the rest of their lives.
Target of Vengeance
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can mark one creature as the target of your rage. When you use your bonus action to enter a rage, chose one creature within 60 feet of you. You mentally mark this creature as your Target of Vengeance. Once per turn, you can double your rage damage on an attack against your Target of Vengeance. Additionally, attacks against this creature score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and your rage does not end early as long as you are within 60 feet of your Target of Vengeance and not unconscious. Once your rage ends, any creature marked by your Target of Vengeance becomes unmarked.
Vigorous Revenge
Beginning at 6th level, you have advantage on all Wisdom and Charisma saving throws caused by your Target of Vengeance or some kind of spell or effect created by your Target of Vengeance.
Vengeful Eye
Beginning at 10th level, nobody can escape your wrath. You gain the ability to cast Locate Creature without using material components. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Crippling Strike
Starting at 14th level, when you strike your Target of Vengeance with an attack, you can impose an effect upon it to make it weaker towards an incoming attack. Once per turn, when you hit your Target of Vengeance with a melee weapon attack, you can choose one of the following effects to inflict upon it:
- It makes its next saving throw with disadvantage
- The next attack against it, from a creature other than you, has advantage
- For the next weapon attack that hits the creature, you may reroll the attack's damage dice and use the higher total
