Base Class: Ranger
Using the arcane to reduce their marks to slayable mortals, these huntsmen often find themselves at odds with various theocratic institutions as their very existence threatens the beings they worship. Those of high regard in this conclave may gain the title of "god hunter".
Mortal Seal Magic
At 3rd level, your sealing magic appears.
You learn one cantrip of your choice from the Cleric, Druid, or Warlock spell list. You also learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Mortal Seal Spells table. Each spell counts as a Ranger spell for you, but does not count against the number of spells you know.
Mortal Seal Spells
| Ranger Level | Spells |
| 3rd | Bane |
| 5th | Hold Person |
| 9th | Dispel Magic |
| 13th | Polymorph |
| 17th | Dominate Person |
Sealed Fate
Also at 3rd level, your magic can bring those with power above yours down to your level.
When you hit a creature with an attack, you can brand it with a magical seal. Your attacks against the sealed creature, including the attack to brand it, count as magical if they did not already, and you gain +1 to attack and damage rolls against them. For the purposes of spells and effects that require it, a sealed creature's creature type is treated as "Humanoid".
The seal on a creature disappears when you finish a short or long rest, after you brand a different creature, or you are Incapacitated.
Superior Willpower
By 7th level, your willpower is in a league of its own.
When you would make an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw, and the number on the d20 is 5 or lower, you can choose to reroll the saving throw, and use either total.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum once), and regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Mortal Bane
At 11th level, the creatures you brand can feel its sting particularly well.
When you brand a creature with your Sealed Fate feature, you can choose to have the target suffer from one of the following effects until the seal disappears:
- Its Speed is halved, and cannot take reactions.
- All attacks against it that are not made by you gain +1 to attack and damage rolls.
- Choose one ability score - when the branded creature makes an ability check or saving throw using that ability, you can use a reaction to subtract half your proficiency bonus from the result.
Weakening Brand
By 15th level, the pain from your brand causes those sealed by it to rethink their malice.
When the target of your Sealed Fate feature deals damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by half your Ranger level (minimum of 0).
