Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

One night, in a fit of restless sleep, you heard a cry in your dreams. An echo, screamed from deep between the creases of realities. You followed the call and suffered a horrific enlightenment. When you awoke, your soul no longer felt entirely your own.

You have become a herald to the Goddess of Woven Death and the power She bestows will only grow stronger if you prove yourself worthy of it. Be warned, this power comes at a price: your mind and soul. That which should not be known should not be harnessed by the frail consciousness of mortals. It is not uncommon for Her "blessing" to harm those who wield it.

"Take care, herald. For your sanity's sake."

Eldritch Favor

"Call upon the lessons in Her echo and become something... more."

At level 3, as an Action, you gain the ability to transform into a Kin of Woven Death. Not dissimilar to a Drider, your lower-half becomes like that of a spider but with 10 legs instead of 8. This ability lasts for 10 minutes and can be ended as a Bonus Action at the end of your turn. You may reenter your Kin form as an Action at anytime. While in your Kin form, you gain the following bonuses:

Spider Climb, Darkvision, AC +1, Hit Points increase by 5d10 (or 35), STR +1, DEX +2, CON +1, INT -1, WIS +1, CHA +2, Stealth +2

Take 1d4 Psychic damage as you transform

All attacks add +2 Necrotic damage while in your Kin form

You have Disadvantage on all attacks against Undead while in your Kin form

A Scrap of Her Knowledge: Feast on the Feeble

"... to sup upon the souls of the worthless and weak is to..."

Your dreams are becoming more focused on death and decay. You find yourself steadily growing less bothered by the smell of rot. It even smells... sweet?

At level 3, your mind is graced with a portion of Her knowledge: "Feast". After delivering a killing blow to an opponent, as a Bonus Action you speak the "Creed of Feast". This ancient vow leeches the dregs of life that remain from your kill. You replenish 2d6 Hit Points as well as add an additional 1d4 Necrotic damage to your next attack. If the killing blow was from a Sneak Attack, you replenish 2d8 Hit Points and deal 1d6 Necrotic damage on your next attack. Any Hit Points replenished that surpass your maximum are kept as temporary Hit Points and you will be unable to restore more through this ability until you are below your max again.

This ability cannot replenish Hit Points from soulless and undead creatures, and only adds half the extra 1d4/1d6 Necrotic damage to the next attack if activated after killing such a foe.

Only one Scrap of Her Knowledge ability can be used at a time and cannot be used while in your Kin form. You may change to another ability during a Long Rest.

Essence of Wisdom

"The Goddess sees potential in you, but you must grow further if you are to meet it. Accept these tokens of Her recognition, herald."

At level 6, your Kin form gains an extra 1d10 of Hit Points for each transformation and you now have a single 1st Level Spell slot. Choose two of the following Spells. The third will be barred from your mind and can never be learned again.

1. Inflict Wounds

2. Fog Cloud

3. Hunter's Mark

Eldritch Boon

"Focus on the words in Her whispers and transform into something other."

At level 9, your connection with the Goddess of Woven Death strengthens and your Kin form strengthens with it. The spider portion of your body grows more armored chitin that travels up your back and shoulders. This ability grants the following bonuses:

Spider Climb, Darkvision, +1 Action, AC +2, Hit Points increase by 8d10 (or 65), STR +3, DEX +5, CON +3, INT -2, WIS +2, CHA +5, Stealth +6

Take 1d6 Psychic damage as you transform

All attacks add +4 Necrotic damage while in your Kin form

You have Disadvantage on all attacks against Undead while in your Kin form

A Scrap of Her Knowledge: Sacrifice for Pain

"... no greater joy than to offer oneself for the purpose of..."

You accidently knick yourself while sharpening a knife. As you go to wipe the blood off the blade, you notice it start to harden into sharp, thorn-like shapes.

At level 9, your mind is graced with a portion of Her knowledge: "Sacrifice". Before making any Physical Attack against an enemy, you may choose to sacrifice a portion of your Hit Points to empower your strike. For every 10 Hit Points you sacrifice, you add 1d4 of Necrotic damage (up to 40 Hit Points or 4d4 max per instance) to the following attack. Using this ability on a Sneak Attack, or on any enemy that cannot see you, will double the extra Necrotic damage. If the attack misses, the extra damage, as well as the Hit Points sacrificed, are lost.

This ability deals half the extra Necrotic damage against soulless and undead creatures.

Only one Scrap of Her Knowledge ability can be used at a time and cannot be used while in your Kin form. You may change to another ability during a Long Rest.

Essence of Wisdom II

"The Goddess is pleased with your work, herald. I dare say, She might be growing fond of you."

At level 11, your Kin form gains an extra 2d10 of Hit Points for each transformation and you now have a single 2nd Level Spell slot as well as another 1st Level Spell slot. Choose two of the following Spells. The third will be barred from your mind and can never be learned again.

1. Shatter

2. Darkness

3. Web

Familiar of Woven Death

"Mother is amused. Our power is yours. You have no say on the matter."

At level 13, your favor with the Goddess of Woven Death grows and she gifts you one of her familiars. Choose wisely, as the familiar will bind to your soul and cannot be released. All consequences of this choice, good and bad, are permanent.

Choose one of Her familiars: The Weaver, The Whisperer, or The Whittler.

As a Bonus Action, you rip the familiar from your soul and use their unfathomable connection with the Goddess to aid your quest further. The familiar cannot be targeted, nor take damage, and will remain until you are out of combat. Anyone who can see you do this must make a DC 12 Wisdom Saving Throw. On fail, they take 1d4 Psychic damage. On pass, they take no damage.

A Gift: The Weaver

"Through me, all are one. The living must return to dust. Her will be done."

The Weaver familiar represents the interconnective aspect of Woven Death. Physically, the familiar looks like a nightmarishly exaggerated spider, but only at a glance. The more one stares at The Weaver, the more their perception of it fails through the sheer power of its unfathomable existence. The very thought of this unnatural entity makes you feel closer to those around you, and you can't help but feel as if The Weaver wants them all to share your pain...

As a Bonus Action, you may activate the familiar and its ability, Woven Fate. Choose 2 targets within sight (enemies, allies, etc.) and the familiar will Soul Bind them to you. Spectral tendrils erupt from your body and ensnare the selected target's souls. Whilst Soul Bound, any damage, buffs, debuffs, healing, and/or spell effects that are suffered by one Soul Bound entity affect all 3. You may not choose less than 2 targets to Soul Bind and cannot change targets until the end of your turn. You can choose to end Woven Fate as a Bonus Action at the end of your turn.

Undead and soulless creatures are not affected by Woven Fate.

Example: You Soul Bind to 2 of your companions and one of them heals you for 14 Hit Points. Both Soul Bound companions receive 14 Hit Points as well. But what if an enemy Wizard uses Polymorph on one of your Soul Bound companions and they fail the Saving Throw, turning into a bunny rabbit? You and your other Soul Bound companion also turn into bunny rabbits automatically. Now say you Soul Bind to 2 enemies and one buffs the other with Haste. You and the other Soul Bound enemy both receive the benefits of the spell.

Note 1: Any bonuses from class specific traits (Barbarian's Rage, etc.) will not be transferred via Soul Bind, unless they are Rogue class specific.

Note 2: If a Soul Bound entity is knocked unconscious or killed, you will not follow suit. Instead, you take 5 damage for any Soul Bound entities that are killed.

A Gift: The Whisperer

"Through me, all are strayed. The mind I tease and unwind. Her plans be laid."

The Whisperer familiar represents the deceitful and treacherous aspects of the Goddess of Woven Death. Physically, the familiar looks like the most gorgeous being the viewer has ever seen, but only at first. The more one stares at The Whisperer, the more its façade shifts into the most horrendous sight they could ever possibly imagine. The very image of this monstrosity causes immense psychological pain and strains the observer's perception of reality.

As a Bonus Action, you may activate the familiar and its ability, Mother's Lie. Your form takes on a semi-corporeal state as 2 similar looking clones of you appear. In this state, anyone that makes a successful Physical attack against you must also make a DC 10 Wisdom Saving Throw. On fail, the attacker hits a clone and takes 1d6 Psychic damage while your true self takes the full damage of their attack. On pass, the attacker hits your true self and they suffer no repercussions. Furthermore, if any allies attempt to interact with you in any way (heal, buff, etc) they must make the same DC 10 Wisdom Saving Throw. On fail, they interact with a clone and take 1d6 Psychic damage though you still receive the benefits of their action. On pass, they interact with your true self and suffer no repercussions. You can choose to end Mother's Lie as a Bonus Action at the end of your turn.

Undead can see through the deception and are unaffected. They will always attack your true self.

Note: Mother's Lie only affects Physical attacks. Magic attacks from spells and the like will always hit your true self.

A Gift: The Whittler

"Through me, the sharp are dull. The Blessed must be tested. Her weak, I'll cull."

The Whittler familiar represents the scrutinous aspect of Woven Death. Physically, the familiar looks like a writhing, indiscernible mass of tentacles with menacing raven wings keeping it aloft. No one would expect that within the mass lay barbs of a size that is impossible for its frame to hold. You feel its disdain for the useless and how it hungers for the souls of the weak.

As a Bonus Action, you may activate the familiar and its ability, Slaughter of Inadequacy. At any point during your turn, select a target and flip a coin. On heads, the familiar will fire an unavoidable barb at the selected target. On tails, the barb will miss. These barbs deal Piercing damage and work in a cycle with the first barb = 1d4 damage, second barb = 1d6, third barb = 1d8, and the fourth dealing 1d10. After four barbs fire, the cycle resets to 1d4 and continues again and again until combat ends. During each cycle, no target can be selected twice until the next cycle begins, regardless if they were hit by a barb or not. Yourself and any allies are acceptable targets and may need to be targeted when foes are few to allow the cycle to continue. Again, the cycle will continue until you are out of combat or rendered unconscious. You cannot choose to end Slaughter of Inadequacy.

Undead and soulless creatures cannot be targeted by Slaughter of Inadequacy.

Essence of Wisdom III

"Do you feel Her joy, herald? Do you relish serving Her? Regardless, continue."

At level 15, your Kin form gains an extra 3d10 of Hit Points for each transformation and you now have a single 3rd Level Spell slot as well as an additional 1st and 2nd Level Spell slot. Choose two of the following Spells. The third will be barred from your mind and can never be learned again.

1. Erupting Earth

2. Meld into Stone

3. Fear

Eldritch Gift

"Listen to Her voice and let knowledge unshackle your form!"

At level 17, the Goddess of Woven Death begins to see you as an invaluable asset. Your Kin form flourishes through Her generosity. The armored chitin grows thicker and massive raven-like wings burst from your back. This ability grants the following bonuses:

Flight (15ft Max Height), Spider Climb, Darkvision, +1 Action, AC +3, Hit Points increase by 15d10 (or 135), STR +4, DEX +7, CON +5, INT -4, WIS +3, CHA +7, Stealth +9

Take 1d8 Psychic damage as you transform

All attacks add +6 Necrotic damage while in your Kin form

You have Advantage on all attacks against Fiends and Celestials

You have Disadvantage on all attacks against Undead while in your Kin form

A Scrap of Her Knowledge: Pinnacle of Survival

"... death is universal, it is woven, but if one were to show prowess in the reaping of others..."

You dreamed you stood atop a mountain with the wind and sun on your face. Looking down, you saw the mountain was a pile of corpses and you were perched upon them, wings aloft, poised to ascend.

At level 17, your mind is graced with a portion of Her knowledge: "Pinnacle". As a Reaction, you can dodge any Physical Attack made against you up to 3 times per Long Rest. If you choose to activate the ability, roll a d20. An 11 or higher dodges the attack, putting you behind the attacker. A 10 or lower fails and you lose one of the dodges. If a nat20 is rolled on the dodge, you can make a counter attack with your weapon.

Only one Scrap of Her Knowledge ability can be used at a time and cannot be used while in your Kin form. You may change to another ability during a Long Rest.

Essence of Wisdom IV

"Rejoice, herald! Rejoice! You are on the cusp of true kinship! She will make you whole!"

At level 18, your Kin form gains an extra 3d10 of Hit Points for each transformation and you now have a single 4th Level Spell slot as well as an additional 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Level Spell slot. Choose two of the following Spells. The third will be barred from your mind and can never be learned again.

1. Black Tentacles

2. Dimension Door

3. Phantasmal Killer

Pure Kin of the Goddess

"Embrace Her magnificence and ascend with us!"

At level 20, the Goddess of Woven Death accepts as you as if you were one of Her own spawn. Your blessed Kin form achieves apex and now shines with Her splendor. Spiked, chitinous tendrils writhe where spider legs once skittered as your pitch black wings appears to house thousands of eyes deep within their inky voids. This ability can last 24 hours and grants the following bonuses:

Flight (30ft Max Height), Spider Climb, Darkvision, +2 Actions, AC +5, Hit Points increase by 20d10 (or 185), STR +6, DEX +10, CON +7, INT -8, WIS +5, CHA +10, Stealth +15

Take 2d10 Psychic damage as you transform

All attacks add +8 Necrotic damage while in your Kin form

You have Advantage on all attacks against Fiends and Celestials

You deal half damage on all attacks against Undead while in your Kin form

Your familiars become Blessed and grow stronger

Blessed Weaver

"Thank you, Mother! May their pain grant you the strength to return!"

The Blessed Weaver has grown stronger by the grace of the Goddess.

Upon activating Woven Fate, you can now choose 2 - 4 targets to Soul Bind. If you are Soul Bound to 3 or more targets, you can choose to sever the connection down to 2 targets at the end of anyone's turn, but can only change targets or fully end the Soul Bind as a Bonus Action at the end of your turn. Any damage that allies receive through being Soul Bound is halved. You no longer take damage from Soul Bound entities that are knocked unconscious or killed.

Undead and soulless creatures are not affected by Woven Fate.

Note: Any bonuses from class specific traits (Barbarian's Rage, etc.) will not be transferred via Soul Bind, unless they are Rogue class specific.

Blessed Whisperer

"You wisdom is infallible, Mother. Lend me the power to rip their minds open so they may embrace it!"

The Blessed Whisperer has grown more cunning by the grace of the Goddess.

Upon activating, Mother's Lie, your clone forms take a more proactive role in protecting you. The Wisdom Saving Throw for successful attacks against you increases to 12. If an enemy attacks a clone, they take 1d10 Psychic damage and the damage dealt to your true self is halved. Allies must make a DC 5 Wisdom Saving Throw to interact with you and take 1d4 Psychic damage on a fail. Finally, if you make an attack and Crit, both clones will attack with you and add an extra 2d10 Psychic damage to the attack. You can choose to end Mother's Lie as a Bonus Action at the end of your turn.

Undead can see through the deception and are unaffected. They will always attack your true self.

Note: Mother's Lie only affects Physical attacks. Magic attacks from spells and the like will always hit your true self.

Blessed Whittler

"Yes, Mother! Sharpen my spear so I may bleed the unworthy for your drink!"

The Blessed Whittler grows more vicious by the grace of the Goddess.

Upon activating Slaughter of Inadequacy, all barbs deal double damage on a hit. Any barbs that hit you or an ally will deal normal damage. If you Crit on your attack against an enemy and then hit the same enemy again with the familiar's barb, the barb will deal 4x its normal damage. You can choose to abstain a barb attack once per cycle.

Undead and soulless creatures cannot be targeted by Slaughter of Inadequacy.
