Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of Sympathy seek to understand their allies and enemies, and through that understanding gain clarity on how and when to act. Some might take copious notes on different creatures, using a scholarly approach to gain insight while others test theories in the field through combat or discourse. Way of Sympathy Monks are fierce opponents., able to use the flow of Ki to align themselves to their enemies, making themselves resistant to opponents blows while creating vulnerabilities they or their allies can exploit.
Synchronise
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your study of the flow of Ki throughout the body allows you to synchronise yourself to an enemy. As a bonus action you can choose an enemy and spend a Ki point to gain resistance to a damage type dealt by that enemy. This resistance lasts for 1 minute or until this feature is used again.
Align
You channel the Ki within you, creating a pulse which aligns to a creature engaged in combat with you. When combat begins or on your turn as a free action, you can spend 1 Ki point to force one creature to have it's initiative changed to match yours, or change your initiative to match one creature.
Channel
At 6th level, you can now channel the flow Ki through your body and into your fists, creating an aura around them that deals damage more effectively to your foes. When you use your Flurry of Blows, you may spend 2 Ki points to infuse your strikes with energy, allowing you to choose one immunity or resistance the creature has and ignore it.
Disrupt
Your training now allows you to sense the Ki within creatures around you, granting you the ability to disrupt the flow within other creatures. As an action, you can spend 2 Ki points to force an enemy within 60ft to make a Wis save, on a failed save choose to remove one damage resistance or change a damage immunity into a damage resistance.
Nullify
Beginning at 11th level, your understanding and mastery of Ki allows you to sense when a creature is about to utilise it's special abilities and in turn attempt to nullify them. As a reaction, when an enemy within 90ft takes a Legendary action you can spend 4 Ki points to force it first make a Wis save, losing the Legendary action on a failed save.
Transfer
Starting at 17th level, your mastery of Ki manipulation allows you to identify and transfer the protections of one creature to another, also empowering yourself at the same time. As an action, choose a target creature within 60ft then touch one creature within 5 ft. and expend 5 Ki points. One damage immunity or vulnerability of your choice is then removed from the target creature and granted to the creature within 5ft for the next 10 minutes. This empowered use of Ki also grants you the same benefit.
