Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Not all Barbarians are dim witted. Some have spent time researching as tacticians, studying the art of war, all in an effort to focus their rage and achieve victory.

Barbarians that follow the Path of the Librarian will strike true, and help lead their allies to victory. Through years of research, memorization, and practice, these warriors have learned to assess an encounter within seconds. Some have stronger wrists and hands than the average person, due to their time spent brandishing a quill. Others may follow a strict diet to not only feed their muscles, but their organs like the brain. These barbarians tend to keep themselves busy, and need to multitask, as to maintain not only their physique but also their minds. The first members of this path found the best way to maintain both of these factors was to work and maintain libraries, which eventually stuck as the name for this path.

When you choose this Path at 3rd level, you gain one feature as a result of your dedication to knowledge. Choose one of the effects on the following table, or roll 1d4 to randomly determine what effect your barbarian gains:

d4 Librarian Feature
1 You write faster than others. You may need to use shorthand to achieve this, but your handwriting is legible. This speed does not apply to transcribing spells due to the nature of deciphering spells in addition to copying them.
2 Books you carry weigh half as much. This doesn't appear to be the result of magic, but rather the due to your dedication to knowledge preservation.
3 Your vocabulary improves while you rage. You don't necessarily learn new words, just mostly translate more common words in one language you know, to the tongue you're speaking in said conversation.
4

When you skim a text, you tend to read it faster than the average speed reader. It may take you the normal time to read all the specifics, but you get the gist of things faster than others.

Focus

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, your accuracy improves when you rage. You now add your Intelligence modifier to melee weapon attack rolls made using Strength while raging and not wearing heavy armor.

Also starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in history and investigation. If you already have proficiency in one or both of these skills, you may choose another Intelligence based skill or skills that you and your DM agree is appropriate for your character.

Constructive Instruction

Starting at 6th level, as a part of a short or long rest, you can temporarily give a number of creatures proficiency in shields. The number of creatures you can teach is equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded up). This proficiency lasts until you complete a long rest, and the creature must be able to understand you during the teaching process to gain this proficiency.

Additionally at 6th level, when you enter your rage you now can move your allies to a more tactical location. As part of the bonus action you take to enter your rage, you can instruct a number of allies within 60 ft equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of one) to move to a more tactical location. An ally that receives this instruction can immediately use its reaction to move up to its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks. The allies must be able to see or hear you to receive this instruction.

Unbroken Focus

Starting at 10th level, you gain proficiency in Intelligence saving throws. If you already have proficiency in Intelligence saving throws, you instead gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws, or another saving throw that you and your DM agree is appropriate.

Additionally, starting at 10th level you add twice your proficiency bonus to ability checks made with history and investigation. If you already have expertise in one or both of these skills, you gain expertise in another Intelligence based skill or skills that you and your DM agree is appropriate for your character.

Unparalleled Leadership

Starting at 14th level, as a bonus action while raging and not wearing heavy armor, you can command one ally within 60ft to make one weapon attack using their reaction. The ally must be able to see or hear you to make this attack. On a hit the target takes additional psychic damage equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of one).

You can make this command a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses after a short or long rest.

Additionally at 14th level, you gain resistance to psychic damage while raging and not wearing heavy armor.
