Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who follow the Path of the Chromatic Dragon have been subject to in some way or another the influence of a dragon. Whether becoming their loyal servant, their sworn enemy, or anything in between, Barbarians of the Path of the Chromatic Dragon draw upon the might of chromatic dragons to create utter destruction in their wake.

Seething Scales

3rd-level Path of the Chromatic Dragon Feature

The draconic power with which you draw from offers some extra protection. When you rage, you choose a chromatic type shown in the table below. For the duration of that rage, shimmering scales of that color appear on your skin, giving you resistance to the damage type of that dragon.

In addition, your rage damage changes to the damage type of the Chromatic Type chosen.

Dragon's Claws

3rd-level Path of the Chromatic Dragon Feature

Also when you rage, you grow long dragon's claws, which can be used to make an Unarmed strike, dealing 1d6 + strength. In addition, when you take the Attack action, and aren't using a two-handed weapon or holding something in your off-hand, you can make one Unarmed Strike as a bonus action with your claws. The damage of your Dragon's Claws goes up to a d8 at 10th level.

Dragon's Breath

6th-level Path of the Chromatic Dragon Feature

The wrath of the dragon within becomes so great it's impossible to keep it inside of you. As an action, you can use the breath weapon of the Chromatic Type chosen when raging.

The damage taken from this breath weapon is 3d6 of the chosen Type on a failed save, and half as much on a successful one. The DC for this save is 8 + your Con modifier + proficiency bonus. The damage increases to 5d6 at 14th level.

You can use this breath weapon a number of times equal to your Rage Damage Modifier, regaining all uses on a long rest.

Frightful Roar of Rage

10th-level Path of the Chromatic Dragon Feature

Your rage taps into the primal aspect of a dragon's being, emitting a frightful roar of rage. When you rage, every creature of your choice within a 10ft. radius that can see or hear you must make a Wisdom Save against your Dragon DC (8 + CON + PB) or be frightened by you for the next minute. The creature can attempt the save again at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a successful save. In addition, you can choose to use this roar as an action. If you use this feature in this way, you cannot do so again until a long rest.

Dragon's Fury

14th-level Path of the Chromatic Dragon Feature

When you reach this level, your connection to the draconic path is stronger than ever, allowing you to channel its power to the fullest. As an action, you can transform into a draconic form, gaining the physical attributes of a dragon for 1 minute or until you go unconscious. While in this form, you gain the following benefits:

  • You are immune to the frightened condition, and if you are already frightened when transforming it ends.
  • Wings sprout from your back. You gain a fly speed equal to your walking speed.
  • If you've used up your Dragon's Breath, you can roll a d6 at the end of each of your turns. On a 6, you gain another use of it. These extra uses go away when the transformation ends.
  • You can make a Bonus Action Unarmed Strike using your Dragon's Claws even if you haven't attacked during that turn.
  • If you are smaller than Large, you become Large.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until a long rest.
