College of the Revenant

There aren’t many true bards of the College of the Revenant. Most bards in the college will learn how to feign death for an audience. However, there are only a few that have really died. The true revenants have been changed, often having been part of a different college before they died. No matter what brought them back to life, they are changed and have found a new story to tell. True revenants will find that their music has a healing effect on those who listen to it. These bards may also at times teach the imitators of the college.

Radiant Rewards

When you join the College of the Revenant, you gain one additional use of Bardic Inspiration. This also happens at 6th and 14th level.

Song of Rejuvenation

Starting at 3rd level, you can call to the skies for a radiant performance. As a bonus action, you can expend one Bardic Inspiration to immediately cast Prayer of Healing. Your instrument has a warm golden glow as the heavens answer your call. To cast Prayer of Healing at a higher level, you must use one Bardic Inspiration for each level higher than 2nd, and you must be able to cast spells at that level.

Fury of the Revenant

A performance isn’t always meant to entertain. You have learned how to use radiant energy as a fierce weapon. At level 6, whenever you use Bardic Inspiration you can use your reaction to envelop one target in a radiant light. The target must succeed a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. Upon failure, the target is dealt radiant damage with your Bardic Inspiration die + your bard level, and half damage upon success.

Saving Grace

Death wasn’t pleasant the first time, so you have learned how to resist dying a second time. At level 14, when you hit 0 hit points and it is not fatal, you gain hit points equal to half of your total hp. You also regain all uses of Bardic Inspiration. You can use this ability once after taking a long rest.
