Base Class: Fighter
In the kingdom of An'Delius, the Air Genasi have their own form of knights known as "Dragoons". These Dragoons are masters of aerial dexterity and have the special ability to jump on the air. Their weapons tend to polearms.
Feet of Flight
At 3rd level, you become a practitioner in the Dragoon Arts. You have the Jump spell cast on you at all times, and you gain the following benefits:
- You can use your DEX modifier instead of STR when making a jump.
- You can take a special Jump action as a bonus action.
- When taking this special Jump action, your fall damage is reduced to 0.
At 10th level your jump height is doubled, and at 18th level it is quadrupled.
Falling Strike
At 3rd level, when you make the special jump action as a bonus action, you can spend your action to propel yourself downward and make a Falling Strike. When making the attack action following the special jump action, your fall damage is reduced to 0, and you add 1d6 piercing damage to your attack if it hits. If you fall more than 30 feet, the additional damage is instead 2d6 piercing.
You must be falling at least 10 ft. for Falling Strike to trigger.
Swift Step
At 7th level, you begin to hone your familiarity with aerial movement, and you are able to move more quickly. When to use the Extra Attack feature, you gain an additional bonus action. This feature does not stack, meaning you only gain one additional bonus action per round, regardless of level.
Eye of the Dragon
At 10th level, your mastery of the Dragoon Arts allows you to access your inner draconic power. As a bonus action, you can channel the energy of a dragon into you and your weapon, and gain the following benefits for 1 minute:
- Your AC is increased by your CON modifier.
- You can change the damage type of your Falling Strike to one of the following: fire, lightning, ice, thunder, poison, or acid. Once an element is chosen, it cannot be changed unless you activate the ability again.
- You ignore resistance to your chosen damage type.
Second Opening
At 15th level, you have mastered the use of your weapon with the Dragoon Arts, and are able to more easily discern the weak points of your target. When you make a Falling Strike against a target and miss, you have the opportunity to reroll and strike again. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier.
Comet Strike
At 18th level, you have completely mastered the Dragoon Arts, and are able to strike at sonic speeds. The further you fall, the more powerful your strike. Once per turn, you are able to make one of your attacks a Comet Strike. When using a Comet Strike, your chosen attack does additional damage equal to: (falling distance/10) x 1d6 die.
