Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Not many wizards study within the school of Biomancy. Mages within this school study the forces of life, organic creatures and work to replicate the druidic magics in an arcane setting. Biomancers are capable of tapping into the fabric of nature, making them excellent botanists, conservationists, and give them an edge in animal husbandry. After learning to wield the essence of life itself, some biomancers try their hand at medical care, whether as a doctor or veterinarian, they can cast spells never before used by arcane mages that heal and restore vitality to living creatures.

Biomancy Savant

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you have learned to harness the science of life into your spellcasting. The Biomancy Expanded Spells table references a list of spells to add to your wizard spell list when you select your spells to learn. The spells you choose must be of a level which you are able to cast.

Additionally, you become proficient with Medicine checks and a healer's kit, and you may use your Intelligence in place of Wisdom when making Medicine checks, or any checks to determine any and all injuries, diseases or poisons effecting a creature.

Vitus Arcanum

Beginning at 2nd level, you can use the weave to either increase or decrease vitality in life forms around you. As an action, you may expend one spell slot and choose one target within 30 feet of you. That target must expend a number of its' hit dice equal to the level of the spell slot expended. That target then rolls their hit dice, and you may choose whether that target receives healing or hurting.

Healing. The target restores a number of hit points equal to the total rolled. If the target reaches its maximum hit point total, it may convert any hit points above its' maximum hit point total into temporary hit points. These temporary hit points last until the target finishes a short or long rest.

Hurting. The target must succeed a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target takes necrotic damage equal to the total rolled, or half as much on a successful save.

Bio-Casting

Starting at 6th level, you've learned to manipulate a creature's body with all of your arcane casting. Whenever you cast a spell that targets one or more creatures, you may choose one of those creatures and choose to heal or hurt them, just as your Vitus Arcanum class feature allows. In this manner, the target may only expend one hit dice.

This feature may be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Vitus Maxima

Beginning at 10th level, you have learned how to overcharge a creature's immune system, and use your own body to help them expel toxins, pathogens and other ailments. When using your Vitus Arcanum or Bio-Casting feature, you may expend hit dice in any combination from the target's or from your own pool of hit dice to heal or hurt them. Additionally, when you use your Vitus Arcanum feature to heal a target, you may expend two extra hit dice (once again, in any combination of hit dice belonging to you or the target) to remove one disease, one level of exhaustion, or one condition affecting the creature.

Additionally, your total maximum pool of hit dice increases by a number equal to half of your wizard level. These extra hit dice are not used in calculation of your hit point maximum. When using your Vitus Arcanum or Bio-Casting feature, your hit dice are now considered 1d8s.

Life Transfer

Starting at 14th level, you can use your own life essence to greatly bolster or hinder that of another. When you expend a spell slot of 1st through 5th level using your Vitus Arcanum feature, you may max out the value rolled. Whether healing or damaging a target, you will also suffer necrotic damage equal to half the value rolled. Damage dealt to you in this manner may not be reduced or negated in any way. If damage from this feature drops you to 0 zero hit points, you are killed outright.
