Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

The bounty hunter is a specialized tracker and hunter who hunts down criminals. Many are essentially mercenaries, while others, often called bailiffs or constables, are officers of the local government. Unlike a simple guardsman, the bounty hunter is a relentless pursuer, whether his quarry takes cover in the wilderness or hides among friends and sympathizers. Some bounty hunters are deeply concerned with justice, but most view their work as a practical matter. They leave justice to be judged by their employers. Bounty hunters sometimes dabble in hunting monsters, while the less scrupulous are little more than assassins operating under the thin pretenses of their noble employers. Few bounty hunters will willingly take on a spell-caster, but if the price is right, the most daring bounty hunters sometimes attempt it.

Tracker

Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Survival skill if you don't already have it. Additionally, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses Wisdom (Survival) checks made to follow or identify tracks.

Studied Target

Also at 3rd level, you may study a creature or an item for at least 1 hour, gathering information about them and designating it as your studied target. This lasts until dawn, or until the creature dies or the item is destroyed. You don't need to know the identity, purpose, or nature of the studied target, but you do need to be aware of its existence. For instance, finding a footprint is enough to designate a creature that left it as your studied target, and seeing a hasty sketch or listening to a detailed description of an item, can be enough to designate that object as your studied target.

You gain advantage on all Intelligence ability checks made to recall knowledge about your studied target, based on your studies and information, including any class levels, supernatural or extraordinary abilities, or weaknesses they might possess, etc. Though this is obviously limited by the information you were able to access while studying it, or gathering information about it.

If the studied target is a creature, unless you have disadvantage on your attack roll, you can use your Sneak Attack on your studied target. Even if an ally isn't within five feet reach of it, or you don't have advantage on the attack roll.

Submission Hold

At 9th level, when a bounty hunter attempts a Strength ability check to Grapple a target, he can choose to roll his sneak attack and add the result to the check.

Master Interrogator

At 13th level, when attempting to gain information, you may add half your Proficiency (rounded up), to all Charisma (Intimidation), and Wisdom (Insight) ability checks you make to retrieve this information. If you are attempting a Charisma (Intimidation), or Wisdom (Insight) ability check, to gain information related to your studied target, or one of their close associates, you have advantage on that check.

Incapacitate

At 17th level, a bounty hunter’s critical hit with a weapon attack can knocks the target Unconscious for 1d6 rounds, unless it succeeds at a Constitution saving throw. The the DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. If the target does succeed at its saving throw, it still takes the sneak attack damage as normal, but the damage is nonlethal, and the target is immune to that bounty hunter's incapacitate feature for 24 hours.
