Base Class: Cleric
The Divine Dragon is a cleric subclass that centers around harnessing the power of dragons. With their abilities to communicate with, control, and emulate these creatures, clerics of the Divine Dragon path become formidable allies in battles against other dragonkind. At 1st level, you gain Dragon's Blessing, which grants you proficiency in the Intimidation skill and the ability to speak Draconic. Draconic communication is a powerful tool for clerics of the Divine Dragon, as it can be used to negotiate with and understand dragons and other creatures with draconic features. Additionally, Dragon's Resistance allows you to choose a damage type and gain resistance to it, making you more resilient in battle. At 2nd level, you gain Draconic Sense, which gives you the ability to see through the humanoid disguises of shape-changed dragons. At 6th level, your abilities to emulate dragons truly begin to manifest with Draconian Transformation. This Channel Divinity option allows you to transform into a hybrid dragon form, granting you darkvision, a breath weapon attack, and a bonus to your Strength saving throws. The breath weapon deals damage based on the type of dragon you are emulating, and creatures caught in the area of effect must make a saving throw or take full damage. The ability to emulate dragons in battle makes clerics of the Divine Dragon formidable opponents against other dragonkind. At 8th level, you gain Dragon's Charm, which allows you to project an aura of draconic power that influences those around you. Creatures within this aura perceive each other as having draconic features, and you gain advantage on Persuasion and Deception checks made when communicating with them. The Dragon's Charm ability is a powerful tool for manipulating and influencing other creatures, as it allows you to project a powerful aura of confidence and authority. Finally, at 17th level, you gain Draconic Avatar, which allows you to transform into a full dragon form for a short period of time. In this form, you gain flight, immunity to your chosen damage type, and a powerful breath weapon attack. This transformation lasts for 1 minute and can be used once per long rest. The ability to transform into a full dragon is the crowning achievement of the Divine Dragon subclass, and it makes clerics of this path truly stand out as dragon-based powerhouses.
