Base Class: Wizard
Maxis' superhero wizard subclass.
Training in Twink and Tech
2nd-level Faraday feature
You gain proficiency with one type of one-handed melee weapon of your choice.
You also gain proficiency in the Performance skill if you don’t already have it.
You also gain expertise in the Technology skill.
Faraday Uncaged
2nd-level Faraday feature
You can invoke your electric powers to go uncaged, provided that you aren’t wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield. It graces you with supernatural speed, agility, and focus.
You can use a bonus action to start Faraday Uncaged, which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you don medium or heavy armor or a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon (unless it is ranged). You can also dismiss Faraday Uncaged at any time (no action required).
While Faraday Uncaged is active, you gain the following benefits:
- Your AC is equal to 13 + DEX
- Your heightened reaction time grants access to the shield spell. You can cast it once for free per bladesong, but must use spell slots after that.
- Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.
- You have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks
- You are proficient in DEX saves while using Faraday Uncaged
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Online Casting
6th-level Faraday feature
At 6th level, you can cast spells through networked electronic devices, including cameras, mobile phones, and computers. For example, if a creature is under the observation of a security camera and you can see the video feed from that camera on a computer, you can cast a spell into the computer and out through the security camera to target that creature. If the spell requires the caster to be seen, the target must see you or a live image of you.
If the spell requires the caster to be heard, the target must be able to hear you or a live audio transmission of you. The spell’s range is determined using the distance from you to your device, and then from the target to its device. You must be able to see or otherwise determine the location of the target. This feature can be used to cast only spells that target specific creatures. Spells that affect an area are not subject to online casting.
This feature can be used a number of times per day equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once).
Empowered Evocation
Beginning at 10th level, you can add your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) to one damage roll of any wizard evocation spell that you cast.
Overchannel
14th-level Faraday feature
Starting at 14th level, you can increase the power of your simpler spells. When you cast a wizard spell of 1st through 5th level that deals damage, you can deal maximum damage with that spell.
The first time you do so, you suffer no adverse effect. If you use this feature again before you finish a long rest, you take 2d12 necrotic damage for each level of the spell, immediately after you cast it. Each time you use this feature again before finishing a long rest, the necrotic damage per spell level increases by 1d12. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.
