Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Executioners are masters of fatality, able to dole out lethal strikes with great efficiency. Often found working as bounty hunters, dogmatists, inquisitors, soldiers, and purveyors of death, executioners excel at wounding and tracking their foes before doling out final judgment. Many of these fighters favor larger weapons, wear hoods, or even wear armor or clothing that is adorned in grim imagery or religious iconography.

Brew: "Martial Archetype: Executioner" by Yorviing

Head Hunter

At 3rd level, you become proficient in your choice of two of the following skills: Athletics, Intimidation, Perception, or Survival.

Wounding

Also at 3rd level, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack and roll the maximum number on any of your weapon's damage dice, that die explodes: roll one additional damage die and add it to the attack's damage. A damage die can only explode once, and you don't roll these additional dice twice due to a critical hit.

A creature that takes this additional damage is wounded for 8 hours or until you wound it again; it subtracts your fighter level from the first instance of healing it receives while wounded.

Bloodhound

By 7th level, you can easily hunt down your weakened foes. Your movement speed increases by 5, and you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks made to locate or track a wounded creature.

Greater Wounding

By 10th level, your weapon's die damage explodes when you roll the maximum number or 1 less than the maximum number on any of your weapon's damage die.

Executioner's Might

At 15th level, when a weapon's damage die explodes, that die can also explode, though only once. It must be recovered through a long rest.

Fatality

By 18th level, you can deliver a truly lethal blow. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can choose to roll up to five additional damage dice. If the target's hit points after the attack are less than your fighter level, it dies instantly.

Once you have used this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
