Birth Of A Legend
Long ago a shaman brought his twins to an ancient spirit tree, known as Rodrahzin. He asked the spirit tree to give his children great power, so they could protect their tribe from their more powerful enemies. The Rodrahzin replied that it could empower one, but only if the other was sacrificed. The living child also had to carry the Rodrahzins heart seed within it, to give life to the spirit trees own children. The shaman, knowing both would die at the hands of his peoples enemies if he did nothing, accepted the trees deal. The Rodrahzin then told the shaman the required ritual he needed to perform. One child was pressed into the thick translucent sap that collected at the bottom of the tree while the other had their arms removed and exchanged for a seed from the heart of the tree, which is fed to them. The child’s arms were magically replaced by wooden arms that quickly grew from the seed. The Rodrahzin told the shaman to raise his child as a warrior, and when the time was right the child's great power would appear. Years later as the child reached adulthood their tribe was attacked by their rivals. As the enemy approached a beautiful spear made entirely of bone grew from the ground in front of the child. The child seized the spear and rushed forward, slaying the enemies chieftain and repelling the enemy warriors. The shaman, seeing what had happened, named his child the first Twin Spear. He promised to spread this miracle far and wide, searching for twins across the land, becoming the first Seed Seeker.
Prized Warriors
In the current age Seed Seekers travel the world looking for twin babies they can buy or steal, bringing them to a Rodrahzin. They often do this in hopes of building great armies or selling them as superb bodyguards to kings and rich merchants. Not all children are accepted by the tree and many die pointlessly for the greed of a Seed Seeker, keeping Twin Spear numbers low. When a Twin Spear dies a Rodrahzin tree grows from their body, no matter the harshness of its surroundings.
Spirit Spear
At 3rd level your Spirit Spear grows out of the ground in front of you. You gain sudden knowledge of the Rodrahzin tree and the Spirit Spear becomes intricately connected to your being, making you much more proficient with it compared to other spear wielders. This also allows you to call your Spirit Spear back to your hand. If your Spirit Spear is destroyed, it grows out of the ground in front of you after a long rest spent communing with the Rodrahzin tree.
- Your Spirit Spear does 1d8(1d10) damage
- Your Throw range is 40/80
- Can call your Spirit Spear back to your hand, as a free action, a number of times equal to half Twin Spear level ,rounded up, per long rest. Spear must be in sight range.
- Any weapon you use other than your Spirit Spear or unarmed fist is used with disadvantage.
- You have an innate knowledge of the location of your Spirit Spear as long as its on the same plane as you.
Twins Nature
Though some believe babies to be empty slates, Seed Seekers know otherwise. When the twin is fed to the tree its original nature imprints itself into the Spirit Spear, dormant until the wielder is ready. Your Spirit Spear has a unique appearance with special abilities in connection to your twins soul.
A Malicious Soul causes the Spirit Spear to grow saw like edges, showing your twins vicious nature. After a successful attack with your Spirit Spear, the enemy creature takes 1d4 bleed damage at the beginning of its turn for 3 turns.
A Impartial Soul lightens your Spirit Spear, and allows it to magically shift into a walking cane. Your Spirit Spears thrown damage die drops to a d6 but it gains the finesse property.
A Benevolent Soul grows a weighted oval crystal opposite the Spearhead allowing you to do non-lethal damage. The crystal does 1d6 bludgeoning damage. After knocking an enemy unconscious with the crystal it gains a healing charge equal to 1d6. As a bonus action you can use 1 charge to heal yourself. The crystal can hold up to 3 Charges.
Spirit Touched
At 7th level your connection to the Rodrahzin tree brings you and your Spirit Spear closer to the spirit realm.Your arms and Spirit Spears appearance change and their innate connection becomes more pronounced. They might grow glowing green vines, perfumed orchids may sprout, or bright red thorns might cover them. All attacks with your Spirit Spear and unarmed fist count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to non-magical attacks and damage. Your unarmed damage also increases to 1d6 + strength modifier.
Paired Precision
At 10th level your mind and Your Spirit Spear work as one, seeking out enemy weaknesses with ease and exploiting those weakness when found. On a critical hit, energy surges through your arms into your Spirit Spear. This can be done 3 times per long rest.
-Your Spirit Spear attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Dependent on your Twins Nature an extra effect happens on critical hits with your Spirit Spear:
Malicious Soul -Magical thorns are left in your enemy after ripping your Spearhead loose. For the next 3 rounds you appear as a terrifying spirit to this creature. All attacks this creature makes against you are made with disadvantage and attacks with your Spirit Spear against it are made with advantage.
Impartial Soul- A translucent hand appears from the shaft of your Spirit Spear and pushes your enemy into a turbulent spirit realm. Your enemy reappears up to 15 feet away you in an open space of your choosing, having taken 3d10 force damage. Creatures of size huge and greater take a 3d10 blast of force damage but are not pushed away.
Benevolent Soul- Your Spirit Spear drinks in the energy of your enemies spirit, doing 6d6 damage to your enemy and casting sunlight in a 30 ft radius. Your crystal is fully charged and you're healed 3d6, up to your max HP. Sunlight last 3 rounds.
Weakening Of The Veil
Your connection to the spirit realm physically alters your arms to appear slightly translucent. Any successful unarmed attack applies "chill touch" at 1d8 to your enemy . You also gain the ability to draw in energy from your Rodrahzin seed to gain an understanding of the spirit realm and creatures associated with it. Once per long rest you gain Truesight out to 30 feet for up to 10 min, and can interact with spirit realms and speak to their denizens during this time.
Born Again
At 18th level you can call your twin to whichever plane you're currently on. They can be summoned within 15 feet of you, appearing as your duplicate, with your exact stats. They can perform melee and thrown attacks only, with none of your feature upgrades other than your "Fighting Style" and "Spirit Spear". They last for 10 minutes outside of combat and 10 rounds inside of combat. They role their own initiative and can act independently of you. They must stay within 50ft or be banished back to the spirit realm. Can be used once per long rest.
